TCC Spring 2016 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I hope it's not too early to start a thread for those who are planning to apply to TCC this summer for Spring 2016. I will be applying with one A and two B's. I'm getting ready for my HESI test and I hope to get a good score. For those who have applied before, has anyone ever been accepted with one A.? I'm hopeful and also nervous. So let's get the ball rolling, and help encourage each other.

September 15 is just an estimated timeframe... Katherine said answers are never made by the dates they have posted and she wishes they would just take it down.

I'm turning in my app on Monday, I'll let you guys know how many apps are in when I go. :) I tried to go yesterday, but she was in a meeting and then left for the afternoon. :(

I never even saw your post cparsons. I was speaking of other applicants. But thanks for the info. I assumed the website was accurate in terms of date(s), and also assumed they would post new date(s). I did not realize that date was just an estimate:(

I have been stalking for years lol... So I have known they never notify on those dates. Katherine confirmed it last week

I've been stalking for years too, which makes this all the more nerve wracking because I've seen semesters where it's less competitive than others were majority of applicants were 3.75-4.0 GPA. The one thing that has been consistent is that most cycles applicants were notified around the 20th-28th. I think for smart measure we should just watch our emails especially since the applicant pool was smaller.

Well...... According to Katherine, this applicant pool had some pretty low grades. She also said she had to turn away tons of people for not scoring higher than 75 on hesi portions.

She also mentioned some applicants will try to turn in fake results.... í ½í¸µ blows my mind

What?!?! I can't believe people would try turning in fake results, that is some one I would not want as my nurse. Cause think about it. if you can't pull the grades to be successful in your pre reqs, you're not going to be successful in a program. When I went Monday I spoke with several students who were worried about the vocab section and my colleague struggled with math (they are older and haven't had math since they graduated school in the 80s)

I think math and vocab were pretty easy.... But reading (conclusions) was the only part i struggled with..

I agree. I told katherine, those are def people I wouldn't want being my nurse. She said the ones who tried to turn in fake results... They have been turned in to the BON and now will NEVER be able to have a career as a nurse.

Specializes in Telemetry.

People faking results makes nooo sense to me. Don't they know nursing school is way harder than the pre-reqs and more time-consuming? I guess they would just prefer the humiliation of failing out. [And they probably wouldn't even think of the seat they took from someone more deserving.]

I'm glad they were caught and turned in.

I think a lot of people just try and cheat their way through... And they also see it as once you are accepted... You just have to pass. There is not really competition at that point.

But for me... I always strive to do my best. I don't understand people who are the other way around

I can't believe some people would cheat!!! I would not want them to be my nurse. I do not have the best grades but I would never give a false application. Those that did just ruined their future in nursing.

I have 2 As and 1 B with a 88.5 HESI, not as high as I wanted on the HESI but I guess it will have to do at the moment. When I turn in my application tomorrow (I guess technically today) I'll let y'all know what Katherine has to say about the other applicants.
