Thank you :) I'm going to try there because even with 28/29 points before I take the TEAS, I should have a shot even if I perform mediocre on the TEAS since that would bring me to 34/36 Pts. I'm starting to feel optimistic. I already scheduled my retake on the HESI for Jan so I can meet El Centro's deadline. I'm interested in Brookhaven but I have to take pharm and patho but luckily they use the same version of the Hesi as El Centro.

@Blindsayyyy how many points did you have for weatherford's application? If I don't retake anything I have around 28 before the TEAS.

Hi there! I'm looking into applying for the THR El Centro program for Fall of 2016. So far with what I got, I will have 30-31 points- is this good for El Centro? The past few semesters I've been preparing to get into TCC as well as completing all BSN courses. I have a 3.0 in my primary courses but a 4.0 in the support courses. Is it worth me retaking English and Psych to get my GPA up just to gain an extra point? Or am I fine with the 30/31 points I have. Thank you :)

El Centro, TCC, Brookhaven and maybe some other DCCD schools, NCTC and Weatherford. I haven even looked at the TEAS test but I guess I'll start now.

@ Aliyune, I retook my AP 1/2 twice. My micro is an A so no need to repeat. I was only a handful of points away from an A in both my AP courses and that was with very challenging professors. Some of the "better" profs I couldn't get into because I never had been to TCC prior to pursuing my nursing degree and therefore I had a later registration date. People typically get in with a 3.3 and a Hesi 94 or above, so that's my plan for TCC and based on the requirements for some other schools I feel positive in getting in elsewhere since many require additional pre-reqs of which I have As in.

@ERiding2016 my GPA was a 3.3 - A in micro and B's in both AP courses. I wish I was able to retake them and I can for some other programs but for TCC I need to score as high as I can on the HESI

If any of you guys find out more about the stats on the applicant pool, please share on here. It's nice to know so I know where to focus on for the next cycle :)

@TSJLA87 I would call the office Monday and see if they can let you know where you rank as an alternate and how they notify alternates. Some one at the beginning of this thread was an alternate for fall 2015 with a 3.3 and "A" Hesi and they got called up in July. I inquired via email about my application and was told to repeat one class or to retake the Hesi. I cannot repeat any classes but my goal is to score above a 94 on the Hesi. I took it last spring and got an 81 and again this August and got an 88.5 so I'm positive I can pull off a high score if I start studying. (I really didn't study much the other two times and the first was after giving birth 2 weeks before) I'm also looking at some other schools that take the Hesi and may also allow me to repeat any classes. Boo. I didn't get in. Unfortunately I cannot retake any classes but I bet if I get my Hesi up to a 94 or higher I may have a shot. Good luck to you all!!!

@Tsjla87- Welcome! I applied with a 3.3 and 88.5 Hesi. I was hoping for a little higher of a Hesi score but I turned my app in anyways. Katherine felt confident about my scores as well after I inquired if my scores could land me an alternate spot. She mentioned to me that definitely yes and based on what she was seeing I had a very strong chance at the 150. That was almost a month ago so I've had keep reminded myself about the convo I had with her. I'm glad you shared what you were told. I try not to let it get to me but with a family to help support with my husband, getting into this program and starting a career means the world. I hope use 3.3s make it on this go round in the past it's gone either way.

I think Blindsayyy theory makes sense. Let's not get worked up. Remember the facts we were told by Katherine: 1) Applicants scores were WAY LOWER this go round. 2) Those who dropped off applications on the last day said that Katherine told them she only had about 300 applicants- so I doubt the pool went past 320. (That's a little less than 50/50 chance!) 3) Katherine was upset because "they" did not pick up the applications as of the 31st of August and that the system "they" used was needing to be fixed. Couple that with school starting later and "they" probably having other tasks in their work load- it makes sense why there are delays. I also think that if I were Katherine or anyone that answers the phone, I totally would give an ETA of September 30th because it stops people from calling/email/stopping by and inquiring about it. We cannot fully compare ourselves to other cycles but in the past majority found out on some random day after the 20th of the month. Either way its soon :) Hopefully my little rant helps ease some worries :)

We're already forming a clique I'm sure she won't mind if its not a massive group. She's a nurse and likes to help newbies out but don't hold me to this... she may not be able to it just depends, I know there are strict policies of when and where.

Yep I am for just a couple more weeks and then its the BIG 3-0. I'm hoping that email will be a much welcome early b-day gift.

@tryhard4success I have Eley at a Trinity River. So far I'm really enjoying the class. I took AP Chem in high School but that was 11 yrs ago.
