I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

PS. sorry I have a been a bit off topic. Thanks to you all!

I took **** at TCC NW, she is amazing! Not a walk in the park but you do learn a lot from her, and she looks like miranda lambert! =) LOL, *** is pretty cool too, very nice guy, but he does expect you to study, what you think won't be on an exam, will be on the exam.. if you get what i mean. But good luck!

Im stopping by TR campus today and i'll let you guys know if im able to get any information!

Thanx txhusker! **** from WC and people at TCC have given me great guidance. I am on the right track just got to get the classes done! Taking things slow so I get the 4.0. Also, professors that are fair and prepare you for nursing school.

Have **** for CHEM in Fall. Want to get Barton for APII so I have to wait till Spring. Anyone have a recommendation for a good Summer Micro. Prof. ?

Not sure what campus you want to go to, but I took **** at NE. I took her while going full time and taking apII. I got an A, but not an easy A. Alot of work. Lots of diseases and disorders covered. Her husband is a RN. She will teach you and you will learn. She is very easy to talk to and funny. She REALLY cares about her students. She even collects books after finals for other students who might need them next semester. I donated my lab book.

Stopped by the TR campus, and mgorvie you're right, they will oly be testing on math, reading, grammar, vocab/general knowledge, and learning/personality styles, no sciences. That's exactly what the I was told by ****, which is what he heard directly from the head of the nursing department.

Also you can go ahead and start scheduling your testing times, which is what I also did today. He told me that there are only 35 spots available per testing time, and testing starts in the beginning of September. It costs 37$. you have to go to the testing center to get a referral slip, take it to the business office, pay for it, and take the receipt back to the testing center to schedule your testing date, but he will explain all of that to you also.

My aunt works at the business office and she told that it was a good thing I came early because it starts to fill up fast once the application period begins and their building three new buildings for the nursing facility!

Im super excited!! :yeah:

So it was true! thanks for the information! wow slots will go by fast since people won't be able to take the HESI if they don't start testing til Sept.. I'm already trying to take my HESI in August cause I'm applying for El Centro also, they do the HESI but require A&P also with all the others.

Well it's good yo know that's one less test section we have to study for! That was my lowest score on the teas while I nailed the english and math parts. I guess they don't test for the science cuz that's all they require for prereqs? But all the other gen ed classes still need to be completed so they want to make sure you'll grt those? Jut trying to figure out out I guess but who cares? No science yay!

Thank you!

That's true.. one more less thing to study, but science is my strong suit so i was kind of hoping it would be on the exam to make up for any other things i didn't do so well in. Math has always been and will be my weakness :uhoh3:, but hopefully if i study and prepare enough I will do okay, though I did get n A in both college algebra and statistics but through a lot of suffering ..lol

Does any one know what the math section is specifically over? Like is it advanced algebra or just beginners like ratios, fractions, and things like that?

As soon as the summer mini-mester is over and i'm done with finals, i'm going to be hitting the books hard and heavy!

THe TEAS math sections was ratios, fractions, some word problems and roman numerals. Nothing algebra like at all....

txhusker: I have read everything I could find about the HESI, and it sounds like the math is very basic. Adding, subtracting, division, multiplication, word problems, ratios, conversions (U.S. standard and metric), Roman numerals. It sounds like the Evolve study guide for this test covers the math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary sections very well.

abrn348- thanks, I think that I can manage. Do you know if they give you scratch paper?

The study guide is about 10-12 bucks cheaper at barnes and nobel, compared to the $40 after tax at the campus bookstore, just letting anyone know if they were thinking about buying it from there. I also have quite a few other nursing entrance exam books also, so i'll be studying off of those in addition to the study guide.

txhusker - I heard that we do get scratch paper.
