I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
Is it the evolve reach HESI admissions book with the blue cover? If so, i think i have seen it at barnes and noble for about 25 bucks. The books i have say that they are for "nursing school admissions test".
But I still can't justify the fact that they aren't testing us on any of the sciences..
Does anyone know if we can go ahead and schedule our testing date since the app. period begins next monday? or do we actually have to wait until it begins?
On the website it says the sections of the HESI will be english, math, reading and science. Maybe someone has some misinfo??? From reading the threads from the last app periods it seems like there is alot of change and confusion going on. I really felt for the fall 2011 applicants. They were always in a tailspin. Different information was given out on a daily basis.
I was going to go to the testing center today before class but didn't get there in time. I am going tomorrow and I can ask. If it was like the TEAS they schedule is daily for the 2 months in the app period.
New here and really enjoying this thread. I am planning on appling to TCC and WC next year. I have been taking pre-reqs at TCC. Still have Chem., APII, Micro and Phed1164....ugh! Came back to school after seventeen years and had to start from scratch. Have 4.0 in all Gen. Ed, API and Col. Alge. so far. It's been tough as I am a mom and work 38 hours a week. (I am a caregiver for an elderly woman on weekends.)
I worked as a Dental Assistant for 2 years and decided I wanted to something more and get into nursing. I want to help people. I love it! Anyway, I have a few questions for anyone that has the answers.
First, if all my classes have been at TCC should getting an official transcript take long for their nursing program? How long does it take in general?
I worry because I plan on squezzing in Micro in Summer1 before applying to Weatherford.
Also, which program has the better rep.? (I have heard so many rumors my head is spinning.)
Thanks for the help
CK
Welcome,
it only takes a few days to a week and a half or so to get an official transcript from the school, they mail it to your house. I havent really heard anything on which school is better than the other, I just know that weatherford has a much smaller class than TCC does.
I suggest going to each school website and looking at their program requirements. They give the run down on everything from classes to total tuition costs for the program.
Good luck!
manow- if you do find out anything please share. I'm going to be heading to the bookstore tomorrow also and if i have time I'm going to stop and ask a few questions and see if they will go ahead and let me schedule my test time during the app. period, which i doubt they will, but asking won't hurt, and it will save me another drive to down town.
The only thing i have to wait for is that *******' transcript evaluation! Since I never received the one i requested in May, i hope I get the newly requested one in time for the application period.
That's what the lady told me when I called yesterday morning and I found that hard to believe too but can somebody else call again today just to make sure I was told the right information lol... but I know Midwestern's BSN program only requires math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary but you have to make an 80 in those sections to even apply so every school is different.
Thanx txhusker! ***** from WC and people at TCC have given me great guidance. I am on the right track just got to get the classes done! Taking things slow so I get the 4.0. Also, professors that are fair and prepare you for nursing school.
Have **** for CHEM in Fall. Want to get **** for APII so I have to wait till Spring. Anyone have a recommendation for a good Summer Micro. Prof. ?

Well, i guess a general guide is better than no guide at all.. I have a few books that i bought from amazon a few months ago as well which are a couple hundred pages long, and it seems like they cover all sections, like math, reading comprehension, grammar, vocab, and all sciences. Ill probably stop by there and take a look at it but if it is similar to the books I already have then i might not get it.
Student- Can you tell me who the author is and the title of the book? I can probably look it up online and do a comparison.
