I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
I don't want to seem nosy or anything but I was just wondering what everyones gpa and hesi scores look like? Also, if you are not accepted into the program what is your plan B? Lastly, what is your guess of when the letters will go out?My gpa is a 3.5 and my hesi score is a 91%. Plan B is to take a class over to get a higher gpa for next time. My guess is Nov. 15th. :)
Hi there! My GPA is 3.5 and I made a 95.5% on my HESI. Plan B . . . I guess go back to work and try again next time. My GPA is what it is, have three A's and one C in A&PI thanks to an absent lab instructor, and since I took it back in 2002 my two chances are up. Should have aced my HESI but oh well. That's all I would try again.

@cross, the nursing secretary told me that they only count attempts from fall2009 forward. I had an attempt back in "03 and she said they wouldn't even look at it.
I have a 3.25 and 96 HESI. I am not very hopeful for TCC as I believe my GPA is far too low. It was much higher with all my prereqs factored in. As for plan B like Student213, I have been accepted in Weatherford Nursing and will be there in January if it doesn't go well with TCC or TWU. I had actually enrolled in Chem and a couple other classes this semester but dropped them. I do not want to go through another app process as I have done 3 of them! Either way I'm in somewhere.
@Student, I had the same gasp moment when I got my refund check.
Good luck everyone!!
Oh wow...all of ya'lls grades looks so much better than mine :/. I think I could have done so much better on my HESI but oh well I really can not do anything about it now. I still have hope and I am praying like everyday lol. I went to the mailbox earlier and saw a big envelope and my heart stopped a bit lol but it was something my mom had won.
So how is everyone?
Well, if what they say is true, and the letters go out early November, then we're over half-way through this painfully slow waiting period. So.......silver lining?
It's tough not being able to tell anyone (work) what I'll be doing come January. I'd like to begin planning my life ASAP.
I'm so selfish, I know!
Sooo, I just called the nursing department to see if they had an idea of when potential candidates would be notified. The woman I spoke to said they would have a decision made by November 15, and that they would start sending out letters immediately afterwards. If this woman is correct, it looks like we will have at least one more month until we find anything out.
I know that one month isn't that far away, but it sure does seem like an eternity at the moment.
@jefe- lol! your not selfish. I know how it feels. everyone asks me how much more time ill have off from school or when I'm going back and I'm like...I don't know..lol!
@hopeful- thanks for the info!! another month or so to wait is really not that bad, considering all the things going on and upcoming holidays. But thar make me even more nervous/anxious/ and excited!! more nervousness than anything though lol.
lets hang in there dudes and dudettes!!
