Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

I completely forgot the summer semester is still going on! I was taking an 8-week term and I just got my grades from my final today, i thought everyone was taking finals this week..

And DO i remember taking the TAKS, I was a 16 year old junior taking my senior TAKS to graduate early..oh the memories..

:up:good luck on your A&P final! :starornament: I remember and dont miss studying my butt off for those!

Specializes in Hoping to do either L&D or Trauma.

@txhusker -

THANKS!!! It's been really daunting but I've enjoyed II much better than I. :smackingf

I did the EXACT same thing! Skipped my senior year and graduated as a junior - don't regret that decision one single bit! LOL Granted that was almost 10 years ago but I'd do it again.

I agree, AP II was the best. I loved that class.

Wow you guys, so much activity since I was here last! I've been in a hole studying for my final for my 4 week summer class! Talk about info overload! I've never taken a class like that before and not sure I will again. I got a B so I'm not too upset, now I just have my regular summer class left.

Katie -- I have a 3.25 as well. I'm retaking chem in the fall. Hopefully, that will give me a 3.5 with A's in micro and chem and B's in A&P. We just need to ACE the Hesi and we'll be fine! I did pretty well on the TEAS in Feb without much studying so I think it will be okay :)

As far as immunizations go, I'm in a tailspin. All I have is a rinky dink index card from elementary school!! I went to a career college last year where they kinda put it in some for of documented format but I'm still concerned. WC took my records and said they were fine, but now I'm worried about TCC. The sign off sheet thing is complete news to me. Maybe I should call Bev?? what do ya'll think?

@cross- same here! 10 years was a long time ago...haha im glad i got out as fast as i could! one of the best things i could have done for myself. I didnt enjoy the a&p's as much as micro, i LOVED micro!!

manow- yeaaahhhh, mostly my part with all the activity going on lol. I just finished with my 8week summer course so i have nothing really to do besides geek out  .. lol.

-For the shot record, i had the same "index card" from 1988, and when i started my immunizations for the nursing program, they put everything as a document sort of, which i think will be fine since it has the physicians signature on it. From what I understand and how i interpreted the "sign off sheet" was we fill in the dates we had our shots and let our physician sign off on it verifying that we indeed had the vaccines. Im going to be sending in the form and my updated shot records to be safe..

Manowhopefulrnsoon- Im glad tks see there are others withy same gpa in the sciences. If i remake the class and get a A that will give a 3.75. I know it would be worth taking the class, but.....

Anywho.... I hope everyone has a great day.

Wow i should have read over what i typed. This phone is so special. I hope u get my drift though. :-)

do You guys think there are going to be questions like "what is the subject/noun/verb..etc. in the sentence?".

Specializes in Oncology.

I don't think so. If it's anything like the study guide, it's more like "Which of these is grammatically correct?"

Well.. idk, i've been reading around here and there and been trying to see what other people are saying about it. I think that I am just over-worrying myself. I had a nightmare last night that we all went to take the exam on the same day and everyone seemed to pass but me cause i didn't even finish the test! Geesh! :uhoh3:

I think im driving myself crazy..

Wow TXhusker... don't worry this much, leave some of that for other test. I had been worrying like you so I started working out more, and I am feeling much better.

Katie

Yeah, I had to tell myself to get a freakin' grip, so i bought a few new books to read and started knitting again, Lol. But then again, that is how i over react to any test i take, since i am overly obsessed with being prepared. Ugh, dam me and my mild OCD. :specs:
