Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

Student - I'm so happy that your job is going to work with you. I know that some people were frantic at orientation trying to work their schedules around their jobs. I felt very fortunate that I am able to work my job around my schedule.

Mcj - It was nice meeting you as well!

I think a lot of people were worried about working, going to school, along with having the time to study. Just the way they sort of broke it down for us; even with my "freakish ability to multitasking" I admit I was feeling over whelmed. I'm sure its just nerves but i know Jefe and I were like "really???" Lol

I guess we will have to see how things play out, but lets hope for the best.

The one I bought came from Wally World and was only $13, but it has so much detail (I also bought colored pens but that is more fun for me LOL). I am married to a man with severe ADD so on top of that planner there is a large desk calendar that will hang on the back door so that he will see it when he leaves every day. :-) Leaving no room for error here! hehehe

Have you looked through your skills kit yet?? I came home Friday night and dumped it out and organized everything. So many goodies!!! :yeah:

I still have most everything to buy but hopefully can start after the middle of the month. Mainly I want to start buying books . . .

I got a really good deal on all my books thru Majors Books!! Check it out

I am so excited I got my uniforms today!!! Went to Dorothy's Scrubs and got 2 shirts, 2 pants and a lab coat for $80!! Cherokee pants and Landau shirts and lab coat! The shirts and lab coat were 30% off. The only thing I have left to get is my shoes!!

thats a pretty good deal doodlebug!

I'm in!!!! I can't believe it FINALLY!!! :monkeydance: I'm so excited but very overwhelmed to get everything done. Thank you all for staying positive for me. Any advise would be great. I missed orientation but would love some pointers you may have gotten. :)

Would anyone be interested in meeting for coffee? I live in Arlington/Mansfield area

Congrats ajk!! I knew you'd get in!! :D

So... someone told me today that Baylor is going to stop accepting students from our school for clinicals and will also stop hiring ADNs. Anyone else heard that?

Abrn- I have been heraing alot about magnet hospitals. Look it up. Do you think its something like that

Also there are a lot of topics about magnet hospitals on this website. Tell me what u think.

I have heard that about magnet hospitals also. I work for a magnet hospital though, and they hire a lot of ADNs. I have noticed that their job postings say bsn preferred. Also I think that if you sign into one of their new grad residency programs you have to sign an agreement saying you will get your bsn within a certain amount of time. However Baylor hospitals in fort worth are not magnet facilities. Maybe they are trying to be.
