Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

I am new to this website and have spent the last few days reading this thread. I am hoping to apply in fall for the spring 2013 semester. I am so excited and nervous!! I am taking AP2 and Chem next semester and hopefully Micro in the summer. I am in AP1 now. Has anyone on here taken these classes together? Any pointers, info anything?!!

attorey, we are almost on the same track! I am taking AP1 and Micro in the spring and then Chem in the summer and AP2 in the fall. I plan to apply for acceptance into Fall 13 program. Now way can I swing 2 sciences in the summer! I am taking AP1 online and Micro on Mon Weds. Am I nuts??? I was told AP and Micro were good to take together. Chem scares me.....but that's just me. What campus are you?

Hi Joshsmother! I am at NW campus and am just finishing up AP1 that I did online. I should finish with an A, as long as I do not bomb the final!! I have not taken Micro yet, I am shooting for that in the summer. I can say that AP1 in the beginning as scary, because I had not had any chemistry yet. But I made my way thru. If you're nuts, then so am I!! Taking AP2 and chem??? I may not be able to apply for spring 2013, that is best case scenerio. I may be working towards fall 2013.

Wow!!! I believe that taking two sciences together is doable, but I personally wouldn't do that. To me the easiest science was Chem and Micro, but for A&P I had to study ALL THE TIME! I met a girl yesterday who is currently taking A&PI and she said that more than half dropped the class. Same thing happened when I took it... Tough instructor! Anyways, I think it comes down to how bad you want it. Good luck to you both!

awesome! I am NW also. I had to double up a some point to keep on track with my goal. I took AP1 13 yrs ago so I felt somewhat comfortable taking it online. And since I have had it before, still recall some of the basics, I decided this was the semester to double up! Micro was suggested as the other science since Chem scares me to death!!! Not sure why but it does. We should totally meet up to study together. I mean we are not taking the same classes but as future nurses, I am sure we can help each other in some way. If for not other reason than because we are both crazy enough to take @ sciences!

sorry about the mis-types. My toddler is all over me!!

We should meet up Joshsmother! I am always excited to meet and help other fellow students who are trying for the same goal as me, BEING A NURSE!! It has been at least 10 years since I have been in school and was scared to death to start! So glad I did. And trust me, chem scares me too!! ALOT!!

I can definitly help you with AP1! I just completed it online and can probably provide you lots of help!!

yes we should! i am on fb also if you wanna message me sometime.

Taking two sciences is difficult BUT doable if you have the time. I took A&PI and micro together along with algebra. I made a C in A&PI because I had a worthless instructor but made A's in the other two classes. I took chem and A&PII over the summer and made A's in both. I'd also taken A&P previously 10 years ago so maybe that helped. You'll know your limits with work / school / family etc so just do what you feel you can! :-)

I took A&P 1 and chem together and A&P 2 and micro together. I made A's in all of them, so it is doable. Whether or not I'd recommend it depends on the person. The amount of competition is crazy, so you really have to aim for A's in your sciences. I would do it that way again if I had the choice to make all over again, but I won't deny that I was really stressed sometimes. You know how much you can handle! :) Just don't bite off more than you can chew! Good luck! I'm sure you guys will do great.

I just wanted to thank all of you for helping us NON Spring 2012 applicants! I for one feel that the best advice is always going to come from those who have been there. I feel very lucky to have this as a sounding board for things. Thanks again and best of luck to all of you in the Spring!!! Sure hope I have a class as nice as this one. :)
