Tarrant County College Spring 2014

Published

I haven't found a thread for Spring 2014 TCC nursing applicants, so I thought I would start one! I still have 2 more classes to complete before I can officially apply. I have an A in A&P I, and hope to have an A in A&PII this semester. I scored 92.5 on my HESI, but I might re-take it.

Who else is applying and what does everyone else have?? :)

Thank you! I will do that. I have a quck question for anyone who has already applied. I have transcripts from UH. I have done a transcript eval and everything transfers over. Do I need to turn this as well as a degree audit in with my app or just the transcript eval?

I was wondering the same thing... Hopefully someone will reply back.

I also was wondering the same thing! I got an e-mail saying to do a degree audit after my transcripts were evaluated but when I went to talk to a counselor earlier in the year, she told me to come in for another appt this fall and she would help me do it.

Hi All! I'm new to the forum (just found it this evening) and I too will be applying this Sept. for Spring 2014. I have a 4.0 in my sciences and I'm taking the HESI in early Sept. I'm so glad to have found this site! Now I don't feel so ridiculous being so excited and nervous about something that's may or may not happen in half a year ;)

Good luck to everyone!!

Hey y'all! Let me just say that I'm glad first session summer classes are almost over. I'm taking Fed Govt and Texas Govt. blah! Anyway, I'm getting super nervous and excited that its almost application time. I'm thinking of taking Statistics and College Algebra online this fall. Has anyone done that or know someone who did?

I'm doing the same thing you are, it looks like.

I'm taking US Hist I and TX Govt this Summer. Then Engl II, College Algebra, Sociology and US Hist II this Fall. Just trying to knock out as many BSN pre-reqs as possible before the program starts. Where are you thinking of transfering to for your BSN?

JPS and MCA are hospitals.

Thinking of Tarleton. But honestly I'll probably go with whoever is cheapest :) and nationally accrediated. Is anyone working in the medical field right now?

You don't need to re-take it unless you really just love taking tests for fun. You will get in. Everyone will 4.0's have been accepted. (fingers crossed) CONGRATS!

I used the HESI book to study and the vocab part was okay. If you have taken anatomy that will help because a lot of the terms are things we have learned already. But Quizlet can't hurt. JPS and MCA are hospitals. On the nursing application it asks whether or not you are an employee. Not sure what that's about, but I have heard that so many spots go to them. You have to be employed 6 months before it counts though. If you have a 4.0 science and get at least a 90 HESI I would say you have a good shot. I just started my vaccinations last week. I hope I didn't wait too long.

Has anyone taken the HESI before? I am worried about the Math portion? Any tips? How is it?

I just took the hesi today. I made a 96 on it but I am decent at math. Lots of ratios and fractions. Know the conversions and military time as well as percentage. I didn't do as well with the English sections, specifically vocab.

Does anyone know what they are applying with yet? GPA and hesi?
