Hey, just wanted to know if there were any fellow Tarrant County College pre-nursing students out there? Just thought perhaps we could share ideas, rants, even commiserate w/ one another!
Okay everyone. Up late studying for my ap2 exam and I find myself hating the respiratory system. The end of the chapter is kind of annoying to me. I decided to take a break. Isn't it funny how we write here and we go to the same school yet we don't know eachother, or maybe we do. Maybe you are the girl that sits next to me and writes every word that comes out of the teacher's mouth....:) I find it kind of amuzing that we share our pre-nursing frustrations with total strangers in the internet but yet we don't reach out to the other nursing hopefull students in our classes. Some..but definitely not all....Sorry for the randomness of this post...
One question... Should I apply to WC without completing Micro or shall I wait. Will it hurt me not to have it completed? Anyone with experience on this and who has applied without one class, please share your opinions.
I'll get back to studying now...
I know, I was in class yesterday and I was talking to a girl that has sat right behind me and she is also going into nursing. I am going to start interacting more with my classmates, the only thing is I'm in 2 Govt classes, so most of those people are politcal science majors.
But as far as Weatherford is concerned. They will give you a C for a class that you are still taking. But I think Mirco is a class that you have to have in order to apply. Im not sure when the spring dead line is, but maybe you can take mirco in a summer session, so that you might be able to make the dead line. Some thing else to consider, the Spring classes at WC are evening classes, and you would graduate after the people that started in Aug 2011. I noticed that the graduation date for the class starting Aug 2010 is May 2012, and the class that started Jan 2010 is Dec 2012. Now that might be a misprint, but thats whats in the catalog.

Yes, I checked with KL from wc and she did tell me that I can still get a C for Microbiology. It is the only reason why I was contemplating doing so. Wow, there has to be a mistake. I thought the whole program was at least two falls, two springs and one summer. It makes sense to graduate at the end of 2012 for the evening program but I can't see that happening for the one's that start in the fall. For instance, if you start in Aug 2011, you would attend; fall, spring, summer, fall and another spring. So, in all reality a person would graduate in the Spring of 2013. I might be wrong...but I went according to their curriculum on the WC website. Maybe the catalog is wrong, who knows. Anyway... still studying for my lec exam tomorrow. Kids are sleeping peacefully so I should get a lot of studying done. I have eight pages front and back left... anyone wanna join?

Hey there my fellow nursing hopefuls :)
I found this forum after looking into TCC's nursing program and I'm so glad I did. Tons of useful information. I graduated in 2008 from UT Austin with a Business degree and I am finally coming back to school to complete my second degree (if I get into the program haha). I'm currently taking my Lifespan psychology class and I'll be taking my sciences this summer at TCC South. Yes I know, sciences in the summer...AHHHHH!!! But I figure if I can take 19 hours at UT with a 5 credit hour Calculus class at a community college, I can probably handle the sciences...right??? I guess I have no choice because I don't want to wait another semester to apply. In addition to TCC, I'm also applying to Weatherford College (TCC is still my #1 choice). I'm aware of how Weatherford scores candidates, but I'm not too familiar with TCC. From what I know, they both use a point system, right?
I am taking A&P 1 and Micro in summer 1 and A&P 2 and Chem in summer 2. These were the only classes I needed to apply, so I pretty much crammed them all into the summer terms :) Pray for me! Oh, I am taking all of them at the South campus except for Micro...my lab is at the NE campus. Anyone been studying for the TEAS?

The dreamer,
No, I'm not taking chemistry at NE.... It is a professor at Trinity. He is brand new to the school. Oh my gosh.. what a mistake but right now I have a B average which it isn't so bad. Maybe we will be applying together. Remember, the applications for WC for the spring entry is due at the end of the Summer not during fall.
If you haven't spoken to Karen Long, give her a call and ask to have info emailed to you so you can get a head start....
Best of Luck
