Hi, Are any of y'all applying to TCC for the fall? I'm a bit confused on how they will be choosing students. On the Tcc website it says they are only looking at the HESI scores. I just took my HESI and I got a 86 I'm really nervous about it. should I retake and try to get a higher grade?

I was accepted to both TCC and Brookhaven and choose them because it only took 16 months to complete the program. If I had went with TCC I would just be graduating this May. It is definitely a doable program while working. Plus last Summer I did my two Texas Tech classes, and while taking my Summer Brookhaven courses.
Unless something change
Med-Surg is 10 weeks (First half is Spring) and Mental Health is 5 weeks (Last five weeks of Spring)
Ob/GYn is Five weeks starting end of May and Pediatrics is five weeks starting beginning of July
all other courses are 16 weeks.
I sent you a private message too... ?

Hi ladies! I attended the information session back in December and asked this question specifically. They essentially said that yes, HESI scores are the first thing they look at for rankings. But they also said that your whole profile is also taken into consideration (GPA, especially pre-reqs/science/math). I'm sure that doesn't help ease your mind, but it was nice to know that we aren't just simply a HESI number.
I applied day one on February 3 and have been "patiently" waiting to hear as the notification date kept getting pushed further and further away. Only 8 more days....
Let me know when you hear and fingers crossed for all of us!

Gah! Thanks for the update. I literally checked it yesterday and the date still said 5/22 (took a screenshot for my friend also applying). They must have updated it this morning.

That's probably the case, then. I was honestly kind of surprised it was initially such a short window--before COVID closed the world, the application-to-notification period was about a month long, so I totally understand why they would need more than 12 days from the extended application deadline! I'm sure they're doing the best they can!

A&P - AA&P - A
Micro - B
HESI - 90% (AP 96, grammar 90, vocab 90, math 90, and reading 84) I was tired at the end and I’m so mad about it bc I definitely scored a 98 on reading the first time but my overall score is better so fingers crossed!
coming back to say I GOT ACCEPTED! Woohoo!! I’m literally shaking right now!

I just got my acceptance email! Now I think they’re just messing with us! ?
I was accepted as well! Got my acceptance letter yesterday.. I got a 94% overall on the HESI. YAY for us!!
A&P I - A
A&P II - A
Microbiology - A
HESI:
Reading 88%
Grammar 98%
Vocab 94%
A&P 96%
Math 94%
I was nervous because I knew they were only going by HESI scores, so my goal was to score in the 90's.. The reading was the toughest part for me on the HESI.. LOL
