Tarrant County College Fall 2014 Nursing Program

Published

This topic was created for those who will be applying to Tarrant County College's Fall 2014 Nursing Program. The dialog is open for those who have never applied and those who have applied multiple times. Let's discuss our frustrations, stats, best practices for study and the HESI, where you are at achieving your goal, and if you plan to apply anywhere else.

I have applied and was turned down 3.50 Science, 90 HESI, 970 Critical thinking (for another nursing program). I was knocked down, but I refuse to stay there.

Let's talk!

Hi everyone~

I am new to the forum and I am hoping to get into the Spring 2015 Nursing Program at TCC. I was hoping I could get the names of two good professors for Micro and A&P II. I know you can't list them on the site, but if you would inbox me, I would appreciate it. Thanks for your help! (South or Southeast Campus is preferred)

Does anyone know when orientation might be? I am just wondering cause I was gonna make some plans after summer 2 and before fall semester. I plan on calling on asking them one day this week or next week.

I called and asked they said they won't know till April for when orientation will be. She said the process is different this year.

Interesting... Thanks for checking!

Who ever has turned in their applications this far, did they say how they wanted the application turned in e.g. Stapled, in a folder, or some other way?

I actually had it in an envelope and took it out and kept the envelope. They paper clip it after reviewing to make sure everything is there. I just had everything in order according to the application. Don't leave out your immunizations! Include a picture!

Good luck you guys:)

I'm an el Centro student just poking my nose around the forums. I had a friend who applied to tcc when I applied at el Centro and she didn't get it. The thing I didn't like about the process was she wasn't told WHY she didn't get in. She had a 4.0 and a killer hesi score.

I admire el Centro and Brookhavens program for working off of a point based system so you know what you need to do to get in.

But now, my friends in the nursing program at TARLTON! Crazy - tcc declined her, TARLTON accepted her a few months later.

Apply anywhere you can!!!

Hi! You know...that is so strange and I understand the GPA to be the driving factor. I am glad she was accepted somewhere. I applied to El Centro for Fall 2014 with 31 points and hope that is enough! How is the program going for you? Likes ? Dislikes?

Good luck you guys:)

So far - good school. Now, no place is perfect and because of changes in curriculum things can get crazy and be last minute. Just remember - that's nursing ;) crazy and last minute! Make some friends and keep your head in the game. I applied with 24 points on the old 30 point scale and got in. So... *shrug* you just never know! Once you get, in organize yourself. I got a book list and purchased all my books through chegg (an edition back) and saved myself about $1000 on books. So plan early, once the stuff starts it gets crazy.
