Tarrant County College Fall 2014 Nursing Program

Published

This topic was created for those who will be applying to Tarrant County College's Fall 2014 Nursing Program. The dialog is open for those who have never applied and those who have applied multiple times. Let's discuss our frustrations, stats, best practices for study and the HESI, where you are at achieving your goal, and if you plan to apply anywhere else.

I have applied and was turned down 3.50 Science, 90 HESI, 970 Critical thinking (for another nursing program). I was knocked down, but I refuse to stay there.

Let's talk!

Anyone else drop off their application yet? :)

I plan to in March. Since the Hep B has a strict schedule and after my first three series i discovered i was not immune, i am starting over and following the set schedule and not the health departments. Hopefully i am not a non responder but will know for sure next month. That will suck!

To everyone that has already taken the HESI, did you find any other great study sources other than the study book? Did you find that the study book fully prepared you for the Vocabulary part?

That would suck! Will they give you some sort of exemption if you are a non responder?

Since HEP B is a serious disease, I doubt it. I would never have known had I not been worried about the third series.... Makes me wonder how many non responders are out there.

The HESI book is spot on with the test to be honest with you. I did use some supplemental studying for the subjects I needed brusing up on (math and grammer) with different websites. I really like math-aids.com for math problems.

If you aren't I would look into it more. I got many of my vaccinations at a hospital, and the person giving me my vaccines said he is a non responder.

Thank you! I have been studying other sources specifically for grammar. But Im just a little nervous about the vocab. I will look at the math-aids.com Thanks :)

I will definitely look into that. Thanks JDBD!

Okay I apply last semester and didn't get in cause my hesi was soo low but this time I'm applying with 4.0 gpa and 80hesi score. I'm retaking the hesi again on March to boost my hesi score up a little. I want to know if anybody kept up on the statistical years people have applied, what I mean is will there more people applying on the fall getting into spring, And spring getting into fall. If y'all don't mind list ur gpa and hesi score to see where we stand at? I'm trying to aim for an 85 hesi when i retake.

I think the nursing department may be your best option on determining applicant stats. I think the number is about the same if not close. Most of us listed our stats. I am at a 3.75 science and 90 hesi. I may retake it because it is almost 2 years old. Then again, I may waited to see who takes me with what I've got! Good luck.
