  1. Wilkes has an RN to MSN. Your plan doesn't sound bad though.
  2. When did you graduate kmart69? I thought everyone graduated either in May or December.
  3. One day in my stats class I was saying how my original goal was to become a doctor, then it became a PA and now it's a nurse. And a diploma RN said something like how she can do some things better than doctors and stuff like that. I didn't say anything, I know a RN has less schooling and lower pay, yeah you may have a skill down better than a doctor, but so what I'm sure a doctor most likely has more overall knowledge and same for a PA compared to an RN.
  4. Man, you applied to a lot. I was gonna do phlebotomy as a backup, but decided to retake A&P 1 and 2 and take statistics instead. Also I didn't ever do it cause I heard it's hard to get a job as a new phlebotomist.
  5. Hey, thought it would be interesting to see what other schools everyone else is applying to and what other programs some of us are applying to for backups or plan b. I applied to Weatherford College for radiology and respiratory care also. Radiology is my first choice, the others are my back ups.
  6. I prefer not to disclose my gender, thank you. Just kidding I am male. I have taken most of my classes at TCC NW. I Live just east of Azle, right next to it.
  7. yall are making it too complicated lol. Though this is all really nice to know. I agree with nursing hopeful would be nice if they were more clear on how they rank us or at least have it posted online.
  8. Yeah we all can't get enough information to satisfy us
  9. Hey so anyone know around when we are suppose to be getting acceptance and rejection emails? edit: and alternate letters
  10. Yeah that would be too easy for them to rule people out Elavette. I was told that the science will be on there next time around. I think it was one of the workers at the testing center who told me that, when I signed up for it this semester.
  11. If that was the case you would think they would ask for all the paper work up front.
  12. When I mentioned the drive I thought it was going to be closer to 45mins for me to get to weatherford that's why I only considered TCC the first time applying and I knew my chances of getting in were close. And I never looked into weatherford's program to begin with either. I am sure other people take the drive into consideration as well. It is worth it though if you can finish sooner even if the school is farther. For me though I would not consider dallas just too far from where I live and the gas to get there everyday and the extra time driving wouldn't be worth it. Well might not be so bad if have a really economical car. What program are you in Jessatkinson86? And what school did your friend with the 3.75gpa and 92 Hesi get rejected from?
  13. Yeah, that's what I should have done before plan b. Though not making it in nursing for spring at Tcc is what made me consider other options. I could already be in radiology at weatherford, if I had looked into it sooner. I just figured it would be too far, it's like a 35min drive for me and trinity river is like 25mins.
  14. It's because my 4 sciences are decent 3.5 gpa and Radiology looks at the overall gpa. This is why I think it's is easier to get into nursing for TCC and why I was originally applying for it. Now that I know Weatherford's radiology is easier too get into than tcc that is what I want. I originally wanted radiology but I knew TCCs program was way to competitive that's why I only applied for nursing spring semester. Weatherford's radiology uses points based on prerequisites classes the more important science ones mostly and I have good grades in most of those. For 2012 Radiology at TCC 231 applied 28 get selected. Lowest gpa accepted was a 5.27 that's with bonus points. happyme, I have a 3.5 and 90.5 HESI
  15. So a little update. I didn't make it in to the radiology program at TCC, just received the letter today. It's what I expected cause my overall GPA isn't that great. Anyway my first choice is Weatherford College radiology then TCC nursing. When I turned in my nursing application at tcc the advisor said my grades were competitive. It sounded to me like the scores are lower this time around or maybe it's just less applicants. Who knows though it's always hard to get some info about other applicant scores.
