theantichick - You will have clinicals starting in the first semester and will go 12 hours per week. You have the choice of a 12 hour clinical only doing clinical once a week, or you can choose to do 2 6 hour clinicals in 1 week.
LOLO- yes talk to B**. She is the go to person. As far as getting the call. I was called about a week after the letters were sent out. I did make it to orientation. As far as what else to do, CPR looks to be like that is the only thing missing so far. Try not to stress about the call. I know from experience that it is easier said that done but I am a firm believer that it will happen when it is supposed to. I had given up on getting into nursing school after getting rejected from Weatherford. Then being alternate at TCC I was sure I was not going to get call. But I did. I will be praying for you.
Not a problem. I remember all too well about being in the same place you were in and wish I had someone to ask questions to. I am here to help.
I envy all of you guys! I am so far away from even being able to apply to the program, and i already feel defeated. This is my first semester in college and I unfortunately have not done well in my History class. I know now that I didnt need History as a pre-req for TCC's nursing program, but it was already too late to drop it. I have A's in my ENG and MATH class, but failing History. So now I totally feel like in the long run this is going to effect me so bad. My goal is to finish all my other pre-reqs and submit my nursing application next Jan. I know it's so early on, but I am trying to stay positive b/c I want this so bad!!

Drop this class before tomorrow and it will only show as a W (withdrawl) never affecting your GPA. Do it now or this failing grade may hinder your opportunity to apply with a good GPA
Hi, guys just wanted to say congrats to everyone who got in for spring 2011. I received my letter last week and can't wait to see everyone and get started. The one thing I greatly do not miss is that HORRID registration. KLP151, do not get discouraged and keep going. I started from scratch last year in the fall and now I am finally going in. :) I would however drop the history. You can always retake it, but you can't take that grade off a transcript. I was very surprised that I got in, I did alright but not as well as I wanted to. I had all A's in my prereqs except a B in Chem. I made a 77% overall on my TEAS. But I guess I got lucky with the group I was applying with. Good luck everyone and can't wait to see yall at orientation!
Loly82 & Trish22, thank you so much for the advice. I went to TCC last night to speak to the Advisor and she actually also recommended I drop as well. I was kind of surprised. But I've gone through with it and am no longer in History. I feel like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders!! I hope you do well and I hope to be in your shoes next year! Thanks again.
txmommy, i caught her on a good day, once someone picked up the phone, im number eight...if you had to make a guess what do you think my chances are... im told 130 were accepted and im number eight on the list, and they have till the 23rd to reply with yes or no.. i wont quote you on your answer, its just you have been in the program and know more then i could guess... thank you!=)
Lolo - I think your chances are excellent. For the past 3 admission semesters I know that all alternates were called. I was 3 on the waiting list and got my call within a week of getting my alternate letter. Now you will jump every time the phone rings. I know since I have caller id, when I saw their number I screamed really loud before I answered. Then had to compose myself on the phone. I am excited for you!

The only thing I'm still confused about is the clinicals. I thought you pretty much had clinicals every week. But in the response letter, they've asked us to indicate if we're interested in a 12-hour shift on a Sunday as opposed to 2 6-hour shifts. Is there only 12 hours of clinical in the first semester? I'd call, but I get the feeling they're pretty overwhelmed right now. :)
