((Hugs)) to you! OMG I never knew how emotional I could get over people taking the CPNE. I visit the EPN board and have to hold my breath in hopes that the weekenders pass. It seems like most of the people that actively participate in that board pass this GIANT. You will too.

I know, I'm a mess today, waiting to hear about all the EPN-ers testing!! Yikes. Must force myself to look away!

Sue:

You can do it! :) YOU CAN! YOU CAN! Remember three deep breaths and a big outy sigh! you are already are prepared! Tell the nerves to go back where they came from. :) Try not to listen to negatives. You already have all the positives. NEGATIVES GIVE BAD Nerves, confusion. I know you can do it this time :)

Sue, don't worry. You have been here before you know your mistakes and you won't make them again. You actually have an advantage, well several. First of all you know what to expect, we are all here pulling for you and you know your stuff. So take you time, go in and kick some CPNE butt. Don't let this test intimidate you. You are great person and a smart nurse. You wouldn't be this far if you weren't. :D

Thanks!

Re: More Cowbell

When my heart starts to race and my thoughts go all negative, which happens while I'm studying, I start saying it to myselfand then crack up.

And I'm feeling a little better about my second PCS fail. I flunked on not documenting checking the skin around the cannula for O2 management. Do you know, it isn't mentioned on the clinical checklist from Excelsior's own workshop, nor on the page about it from the same manual. So I'm not a brain-dead idiot who failed on the obvious. I failed on something that a $900 + hotel 3 day college-held event not only didn't cover verbally but omitted from their own manual.

And I did assess it because I am always assessing skin. Old farts 101. But it didn't occur to me to write it down, nor did anyplace tell me that I had to, except for the flash cards.

Oh, well. I failed the first for not writing down WHY I chose something as a priority.

*sigh*

I'll do it. With MORE COWBELL!
