I'm going into my last semester of nursing school this fall at a CC. I have scholarship money for this fall and next spring. This upcoming semester consists of two classes ( psych and advanced concepts in nursing) and since I will have money left over I wanted to take nutrition online in addition to my nursing courses. Is this a bad idea ? Have anyone ever taken prereqs with nursing courses while working ? I just don't want to waste any money and want to take as many classes at the CC as I can, especially since it is paid for .Any insight will be helpful.
btw- nutrition is a prereq for BSN not ADN.

I took classes for my minor along with nursing classes. All in how you manage your time and energy. I would take it as long as it it paid for.

I'm in a ADN program, but my school offers a BSN program after graduating with the ADN. I'm taking my nursing classes and pre-reqs for my BSN at the same time. I also work and have three kids.

Nutrition is a pre-req (used to be a co-req until this semester) at our CC for an ADN. I took it last semester and it's a pretty involved science class but I really enjoyed it. I would say a lot would depend on how many credit hours your nursing classes are, how organized you are and your other obligations.
Thanks everyone ! I just may sign up for it. I think I may do it online . Since its paid for , why not ?

Your program has only two classes next semester? Even with nutrition, you won't be full time, so I say go for it. Plenty of people in my cohort has to do additional classes outside of nursing classes to complete the requirements for BSN.

Here most schools except for the LPN tech schools require Nutrition to get in, and those that don't have it as a corequisite so it must be taken to graduate. The ADN programs I have applied to have it where you are ready to apply for BSN programs once you graduate. I'd take it if I were you!

Ive toook nutrition online while in 3rd semester in NS, It was really simple (at least at my school) and I would make time every sunday to do all my work, I took advanced EKG interpretation in my 4th and final semester and that too wasnt too difficult, just dedicate a specific time during your week strictly for that class and you will be fine.

Our nursing school schedule is so "all over the map", it's very difficult to fit a regular class into the weekly schedule but some people take online classes. Hey, if it can fit it, go for it.
Which is why I changed my mind. I just cant risk failing due to taking another class.
