I'm starting my pre-req's this fall. My question is since i am taking all my classes online this fall should i still take notes. I'm not sure how all of this works yet. Just wanted to know what other people are doing with there online classes.

I've taken several classes online and I did take notes as I was reading the text.

I treat online classes like I treat offline ones. I take notes when I read and I make notes of the lectures or any instructor notes that are given, though usually you are able to download them or copy and paste. Information that comes up a lot in the course or I need to study for an exam, I put on note cards just as I would in an offline class. Good luck.
I am taking all online classes this Semester too. Online sections opened up this summer and I changed right away.

Some teachers will post outlines for the text or powerpoints and you can use those to take extra notes on as you read. Also some book publishers have a website where you can get outlines and supplemental material. I also highlight in the books and put notes in the margin.

I took four online classes so far. I printed a lot of the material and kept it in a binder then went over it and made notes.

Depends on the class. Some classes I haven't had to take any any notes. Most of the classes in my program use a power point lecture and as I listen I jot down some notes. Others have been primarily papers and discussions and no need to take notes.
Good luck!

I don't think I've taken any notes for my online classes (taken 10 online courses now with 4 more in the fall) Most of the instructors already have notes on there and you just study off those however you normally would (which is making flashcards for me) And then some classes just have discussions/essays for the grades so really no note taking to be done.
Thanks!!! This realy helps. I think i will wait till my classes start and see how everything works first then just go from there. :)
