I used saunders and Kaplan and I passed, I did like 50 a day + content. It's A LOT like kaplan!!!!!!! Use elimination and answer just like you did Kaplans practice questions. Good Luck to you, you will do fine.:heartbeat

I just took it yesterday and found out today that my license went active on my state board's website. I won't be able to get my quick results until tomorrow or Monday but I feel pretty confident that I passed since my board posted my license! I also used Saunders to study. I just did questions every few nights for the few weeks following my graduation (December 10) and then as the test got closer, I bumped my questions up to every night and did a lot more. My suggestion would be to read ALL the rationales for ALL the questions, even the ones you get right.

Memorize normal ranges for lab values -- you need to know them cold. Especially blood cell counts and electrolytes.
Do as many practice questions per day as you can stand to do, but let yourself take breaks when your eyes start to glaze over.
And don't read too much into how many questions you get when you're actually taking it. There are people who freak out if they only get 75 questions because they think they must have failed. Others freak out if the test goes beyone 75 questions. One of my fellow nursing students got the max of 225 questions, was sure she failed, but turned out to have passed. If you get more questions than you thought you would get, just take a deep breath, and keep going!
Good luck!
what kind of questions do they ask in nclex pn about infection control i mean what are the things i need to know about infection control??

please take everything everyone is telling you in stride and realize that YOUR exam will be completely different than everyone elses exam. Just because one person got a lot of infection control doesn't mean you will ( i personally didn't get much). Please read the nclex test plan so that you can have a good understanding of computer adaptive testing and how each question you answer whether it be right or wrong determines the next question they ask you. With all of this said the test is designed for you to get half of the questions right and the other half wrong, you only have to get 50% of the higher level questions right to pass, and 15 questions won't count at all. My advice is to focus on your weak areas. There is so much content that can be covered in the exam that it is impossible to review it ALL. Much of passing the exam will be about test taking strategies and not necessarily your knowledge on the subject matter. There are ways to figure out the correct answer even if you dont necessarily know anything about the topic, simply by they way they present the answer. Review test taking strategies in your saunders book. There are multiple websites and review courses that will allow you to take a mock CAT that is exactly like NCLEX. This is what i did, and when i was able to pass a mock NCLEX multiple times, I knew i was ready. Not that you have to do this, but passing the mock NCLEX gave me confidence which is really important if you want to keep a clear head when taking the test. Eat a good breakfast before the test and get a good nights sleep before. You will be fine.
thank you soooooo much ..!!!!!

Angel_RN I read your post. I wanted to know if you could tell me what those websites were you used to do the mock tests. I have been looking and have not be successful. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am taking my boards in about 4 wks. Thanks so much.:)
yes i tried to find websites for mock test but couldn't find any..
know the which diseases fall under each category (airborne, droplet, contact) know which PPE is required for each isolation category. know the order to take on and off PPE. and of course lab values are a big one too. :) those are just the things i remember....i took it this morning and my mind is mush now.
