Has anyone ever taken an extended leave of absence from work? Lately, I've been contemplating taking a 4 week leave of absence from work.
I did go back for 3 weeks after COVID, but I'm not sure I did myself any favors. Any time I overexert myself, my bronchitis and angry pleural sac flare up. This last week, I worked 3 6 hour days, 2 12 hour days, did PT 2x, yoga on Saturday and Pure Barre on Sunday. Today, I spent an extensive amount of time sleeping. I also noticed that I've lost another 3 lbs, making for a 13 lb weight loss in 1 month, when I never needed to lose weight to begin with. It just seems like I'm not going to get any better until I slow down. I feel like 4 weeks with no work would give me time to exercise while resting when I want.
Has anyone else ever taken a long leave from work and has it helped?

Go back and read all of the posts by SB over the last 2 years. Perhaps you'll see my point...many others on here have said the same exact thing over the course of time.
If you allow people to walk all over you, you're definitely not a boss. You're a doormat

Blunt, but can't argue with that
Irregardless of the severity of your case some things may have contributed to your current state of exaustion. One prior to getting sick your body was already running on fumes or rather diet pepsie and Reeses peanut butter cups. This diet does not set the body up to run efficiantly nor does it contribute to quick recovery from any illness. It is very possible that you are also in a detox state from sugars and caffiene which would account for your weight loss and subsequent low energy. You do need to rest and recover but you also need to start building your self up with a regimen of balanced diet and exercise. So by all means take the time off. This not medical advice as that would be against terms of service but look into going to a gym, changing up your eating habits and adopting a regular sleep schedule. If you have health insurance so get your PCP to give you a referral to a nutritionist. rest, take long walks, look for a place where you can enjoy some balance. Even a studio apartment would be better than what you now have happening.

I’ve read several of your posts and you remind me of me, only more anxious (which is hard to believe)
I am borderline not meant for this role (nursing management) because of how much I let things bother me and how helpful I am by nature. It leads me to get way behind once people discover I will help. Then; they take advantage. It’s only in hindsight that I recognize it.
I’m determined to make changes to become more successful which include not caring about other peoples opinions; unless it’s a collective opinion and even then - only when I ask.
You need a break, and you need to re evaluate whether or not your job is worth your health.

I have to say that the moment I got COVID, I instantly regretted my diet. I did change to a healthier diet of fruits, vegetables and meat/protein and have not had any caffeine for 6 weeks. Is it really possible the withdrawals have lasted this long? I hope it's not a long term thing. I've started taking protonix temporarily to treat bad acid reflux that started after COVID and it's hard to find things that don't cause acid reflux that don't also cause constipation. I can hardly eat anything because it will upset me in one way or another. I'm a little depressed that I can no longer enjoy eating. Sometimes I just avoid food so I don't have to be constipated or have acid reflux; it's more comfortable and I get full quite easily anyway.
I have been trying to exercise more just to gain my strength back but it makes me very fatigued. Even still I have times that I feel very weak.
I have started considering apartments/condos as an entire house might be too stressful for me at this point

I disagree. After multiple posts on here of allowing others to determine SB's path, a Boss is definitely not the title that I'd give. Sorry, not sorry...
