I am about to take my exam this nov. 16 and i am soooo scared.i have studied for almost 2 months and i still feel that i am not ready. everytime i take a new practice test i am faced with new topics that i have no clue what it is. I took my kaplan readiness test and i got 67% but i am so scared. Did the nclex this 2009 have more meds, sata or infection control? please give me some clue to what to expect. thanx.... :cry:

Hey. Im taking next month too. Im scared also. You can do it. Let me know how it works okey?

i took it november 29, i failed, after 75 questions,,,,hmm, what can i say? i studied hard but kaplan didnt help much,,,,i would rather say go for pearson vue simulators or books u can get at borthers or others,,also saunders text could be good, but the answer question trainers there are weak, im doing now, all saunders text book, and exam force from pearson, and all from pearson vue i can get,,,,got it/?,,,,

I only have a few days left before i sit for the exam do you have any tip to what i have to focus on? or what was on the exam more on prio? sata or meds? So terrified to take the test :o so many hours were put into studing how long did it take for you to get your results?

I'm taking mines on Nov 16th too! I studied Kaplan and Saunders! I got a 71% on my readiness test but I am still VERY SCARED! This last few days I've been going over some content, infection control, and some meds. My friends told me that there's a lot of infection control. Some of them got a lot of SATA! I hope I don't get too many SATA because I suck at those. Good luck to both of us :)

If you are faced with a topic that you really have no idea, you can try to eliminate or make an educated guess, also try to use your ABC's and your Maslow's.

Good luck and pray!! :)

I just took it on the 11th of this month. Stopped at 75. At least 10 SATAs, 5-7 infection controls, 1 or 2 OB/peds, 10 meds (at least 5 i had NEVER heard of). I came out feeling DUMB....to the point where I questioned if my studying was enough.

However, as the other thread talks about it, I tried the pearson vue trick and got the good pop up. But, that in itself only calms down the anxiety a little. I want to know the official results already!

One word of advice: remember to RELAX during this exam. I totally could not focus and had to reread the first few questions because I was so nervous. So, I wrote on the white board some uplifting words to myself and practiced breathing slowly. Accept the earplugs if you need to AND wear the headphones if you have to.

Goodluck to everyone. You all can do it!

i got a lot on infections, just study on that more. and, pray :)

Good luck my friend.

Yikes! Good luck to the three of us (smurfsup and timmy05).All of us are testing on the same date. Crossing my fingers for a good pop-up after the exam. My heart had been tachycardic since last week. Geez! Badly need to pass this time. =D

hello i took the nclex last month and passed in 75 questions. i was sweating and nervous, i new i had failed, the test was just too short and i didn't even make it to the first break! i took the test on a friday afternoon after work. i said forget about it i failed and i will have to take it again, i refused to pay and see that i had failed as i have done before. i went on with my weekend my birthday was that sunday! monday came and something told me to check my sates office of professions to see if my name was listed! i check and there it was, my name with registered professional nurse. i immediately fell off my computer chair and starting praying rubbing my eyes, i couldn't believe what i was seeing. but what i did to prepare was use saunder's cd i did about 150-200 questions a day. it took me a while to realize, you don't have to know everything and get 100% on every quiz, nclex board doesn't expect you to. you need to understand critical thinking and try to figure out what the question is asking and pick the best answer. i found that with medication questions, that if the question is asking about a side effect,the most severe and serious answer was usually right, there were some exceptions, like color of urine etc, those you tend to remember those ones. deligation can be tricky, but just think to your self, what is this patient going to need to have done, and is it something an lpn or pct can do? also, when discharging patients, think are they stable enough to go home. honestly, i don't think anyone can remember exact questions on the nclex. even if they did the odds of you getting that same question is slim, and you may have the same questions with different options! go into the test with a clear mind, it's just a test, you can take as many times as you need to, so don't get your self worked up, i found that me having that attitude the last time helped me pass,i wasn't worried about the test until it actually ended then the anxiety kicked in. at previous times i was nervous wreck, i was worried about every answer i chose, even when i was on a new question i would be thinking about the previous ones and that's no way to take the test. just relax have some confidence and go in there with the attitude your passing. also know your lab values, including ph levels. know about thyroid issues and adrenal gland issues. know a little bit about ambulation and the cranial nerves tests. just know when something can be life-threatening~! i hope this helps, i can remember, checking this web site for something that would give me some insight!~

Timmy05 and Cebuana_Nurse, GOOD LUCK TO ALL THREE OF US! I'm taking mines at 1015 AM in California! Let's all think positive and relax and as Chubby 36 mentioned in his/her post, we need to take the test with a clear mind. Let's trust our knowledge and try our best :)

Thanks Chubby36!!!!!

I am going to get a Saunder's book just because of the CD (I purchased the book on Amazon for $25 w/out the CD.) I am going to take the test in January or February; plenty of time to do the 200question per day routine; I learn beter that way {{^_^}}

Prayer always helps! Good Luck to All!!!
