Swine Flu Closures for School Nurses

No, but we do not have any confirmed cases in our state either. We have posted info to the school system main website about info, why we aren't closing, and where they can get info.

We have not heard anything about school closings in our region yet. I did hear a reliable source say they had confirmed cases of the swine flu in a town within 20 minutes of our school. We'll have to wait until later in the day to see if that is complete fact. If so, I'm not sure what it will do to our school systems. I am truely growing fearful of this as the days go on. Maybe it's all the news media going wild, but having a 2 year old at home and the possibility of a flu virus pandemic affecting him terrifies me!

Fort Worth, TX ISD completely closed (80,000 students). Dallas ISD - 1 school closure. Several schools in surrounding smaller districts also closed!

How will we know when to open the schools? I'm serious here, not just bashing the system? What if there is a kid at home who has not been dx yet and he comes to school...

Currently in southern MN, there have not been in closings but two schools have closed in Cold Springs (central MN). There was a "suspected" case at one of the schools and according to the news, the two schools share a cafeteria so the decision was made to close both. This case has no been "confirmed" so they will be closed until next week per the noon news report.

Here in SC they(the news) said Newberry schools would be closed tomorrow(not just the one with the outbreak). Greenville HS is closed post band trip to Florida with many showing S/S of the flu-no confirmation yet.

The county next to where I live....ALL Madison, AL schools are closed (county & city). Closed until Monday. The Elementary school where there are 2 probable cases will be closed until next Wednesday.
