Suzanne's 6-week Program With Saunders's Cd

Published

Hello, Everybody And Suzanne....

This Week I Will Be Starting My Practice Questions On The Saunder's Cd Recommended By Suzanne. I Will Be Following Her Program Because It Looks Like It Has Worked For A Lot Of People Here And Passed The Board (nclex-rn)..my Questions Is, Which Mode Should I Be Using (study, Review, Or Exam?) And Then Once You Click One Of The Modes It'll Give You Another Choices ( Level Of Cognitive Ability, Client Needs, Integrated Process, Content Area) Then Another Choices Which Is The Nursing Process, Health Promotion, Infection Prevention.... I'm Stuck Coz I Don't Know Which One I Should Be Focusing More. Suzanne Recommended To Only Do 100 Questions Per Day But How Can You Fit It All In Just 100? Please Help, I Have Exactly 6 Weeks To Prepare As What's On Suzanne's Program.......please Help!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You!

Do study mode. This way you will be able to review the rationale right after each question. ( this is what Suzanne recommends:) )

If you do 100 q each day, then you can easily fit everything in six weeks.

Please, trust Suzanne on this:balloons: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh...ic....I started today did the exam mode but I was kind of impatient I wanted to know the right answer right away but I was able to manage to finish all 100 questions but I was disappointed cuz I scored badly.....66%...is this normal??? I read the book cover to cover and I thought I'm good to go but I sucked! I started with integrated concept- physiological adaptivity....

Cntw82BanRN, when I emailed suzanne and she sent me her study program. I was two weeks away from my test date. So it's good that you have the full 6wks. Since I was crunched for time, I didn't bother to do the disc because I had already enrolled in the NCSBN program online for three weeks. What I did do, I went thru the Saunders Comp. book in the areas I was most weak in. I read those ch and answered the questions. I also did the 265 questions in the back of the book. Then I start noticing that some of the practice questions were reappearing from a chapter->the back of the book-> even the online review. I then just totally went to the Saunders book & focused there. Also when you're doing the disc or any questions. don't worry about your scores, just make sure you're getting a good understanding of the questions and its rationale.

I'm one of those people that learn somethings better by writting it down. so I made index cards for lab values or points to remember that I felt were important. I wouldn't try to make a card for every value or test, because some of them you've seen a thousand times in school and you know it. Trust yourself, U know it!!

Finally, as time drew closer. I read the other material from Suzanne's study guide. Make sure U read the stuff on herbs, diaster planning & rev. the drugs you're not familiar with. I also went back to Saunders & read their ch on diaster planning. You'll find all the material most helpful when answering the questions on the exam.

My last advice, be consistent when you're studying and take breaks. I think as time got closer I probably took a break every 30mins to an hr then I would eventually put the bk down for the night. Best wishes to ya!! You'll pass.

The book is not going to help you much. You need to focus on the CD.

That is why Suzanne suggests to do 100 questions per day:wink2:

it's my second day today doing practice questions on the saunders CD...I scored 78% this time compared to yesterdays. I am focusing more on the physiologic integrity as this was my weakest when I took the board the first time ( below passing) then I'll proceed to the other categories once I'm much comfortable with this category. What do you think? How I wish there's a random exam on the CD where all the categories are in one comprehensive type of exam so that i'll be more in tuned to the real NCLEX-RN. Please advise.

thanks:)

naggytabby, it's a study program that she designed and email to you upon request. It's very helpful by the way. If you're interested PM (private mail) her your email address (don't post it here) & she'll send it to you asap.

Cntw82BanRN, CD vs Book, different strokes for different folks. But by all means follow Suzanne's instructions, use the disc.

100 questions a day is plenty. Even if you have only two weeks to review for the exam, if you do 100 each day thats more than enough. I believe that anything more than that would be too much. Remember that you have to go through all your answer options and rationales, and that takes time.

I also believe its normal that most students don't score extremely well on these NCLEX practice questions in the beginning. As you progress through the course, make sure that you understand the rationales for both the correct and incorrect answers. If you keep practicing the questions you will soon find that you get better and better at choosing the right answers most of the time.

Ditto that:roll . Who is suzanne?????? I guess it is time to read these posts.

Suzanne is the moderator of this forum and she has helped alot of people with her study program. You can PM her and she will respond to you and will develop a plan for you.

One more question......On the program Suzanne mentioned that in order to practice for the prioritization part, I should take out all my nusing care plan that Icreated and used during nursing school but the problem is I think I might have lost them and I couldn't find them. Is there anything else that I can use to practice prioritization??? Please suggest....
