  1. naggytabby, it's a study program that she designed and email to you upon request. It's very helpful by the way. If you're interested PM (private mail) her your email address (don't post it here) & she'll send it to you asap. Cntw82BanRN, CD vs Book, different strokes for different folks. But by all means follow Suzanne's instructions, use the disc.
  2. Cntw82BanRN, when I emailed suzanne and she sent me her study program. I was two weeks away from my test date. So it's good that you have the full 6wks. Since I was crunched for time, I didn't bother to do the disc because I had already enrolled in the NCSBN program online for three weeks. What I did do, I went thru the Saunders Comp. book in the areas I was most weak in. I read those ch and answered the questions. I also did the 265 questions in the back of the book. Then I start noticing that some of the practice questions were reappearing from a chapter->the back of the book-> even the online review. I then just totally went to the Saunders book & focused there. Also when you're doing the disc or any questions. don't worry about your scores, just make sure you're getting a good understanding of the questions and its rationale. I'm one of those people that learn somethings better by writting it down. so I made index cards for lab values or points to remember that I felt were important. I wouldn't try to make a card for every value or test, because some of them you've seen a thousand times in school and you know it. Trust yourself, U know it!! Finally, as time drew closer. I read the other material from Suzanne's study guide. Make sure U read the stuff on herbs, diaster planning & rev. the drugs you're not familiar with. I also went back to Saunders & read their ch on diaster planning. You'll find all the material most helpful when answering the questions on the exam. My last advice, be consistent when you're studying and take breaks. I think as time got closer I probably took a break every 30mins to an hr then I would eventually put the bk down for the night. Best wishes to ya!! You'll pass.
  3. thx gawd, i passed. 15 days patiently waiting, my results finally came in the mail. i now can say that i'm a license rn & i'm apart of suzanne's 100% passing club. the info that you sent to me was very useful on nclex. thx you so much. to those of you that are still testing, be encourage, you can do it no matter how many times it take. ....weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
  4. congratulations i totally know how you felt with the long wait. but you did it!!!!!!!
  5. Best wishes to you and congratulations
  6. Petra, i didn't attend the schools you mentioned, but try visiting Alabama BON website.& look at their approved nsg programs and their passing rates. Maybe this will help you decide which program is best. http://www.abn.state.al.us/main/programs/reg-programs.html
  7. I remember studying a question like that in the saunders book (saunders comprehensive book). What R U studying the disc or the questions in the book. If you're answering the questions in the back of the book it's worded differently but the answer is 1. Maybe the disc had an error because that's the same question just reworded an the answer should be the same.
  8. Check the BON website, of the state you're planning to attend school in. They normally have a list of the accreditated nsg programs in that state. It usually shows you the passing percentage of each school for a 3yr span.
  9. techno, It's normal to have some level of anxiety. But if you pressing thru question after question and not retaining anything then just push back from the books for a little while, give youself a break. as for worrying about what everyone is going think. block'em out, they will be mad for a little while but they will understand in the end. just tell them u rescheduled the test date or something. your main focus is you & your performance on the nclex. you'll do fine, believe in yourself & tell yourself everyday that you are a nurse and u will succeed. best wishes to you.
  10. I took A&P 1 & 2 at the same time 3 summers ago. It was a 9 week course, & the girl in the registration office looked @ me like I was nuts. I took A&P 2 in the am, & A&P 1 at noon (that's rt, I actually learned the physio, before I learned the anatomy). I had & hr break between the two classes. It was a little rough at times, but my luck had it, the test were schedule opposites wks of one another. which meant, I didn't have them both the same day, but I had a test just about every week. Like someone said it depends on the professors u have. my am class was taught by the dean of the biology dept, but I got an A outta his class, my second class was taught by a summer fill-in instructor, and I got a B, outta her class. Best wishes goes out to you on whatever you decide to do.
  11. Check w/a counselor in the nursing program to see if you really need it or to see if they will substitute another math class for it. they may let you in & require that you take it along w/nsg classes. that's if they don't have a waitng list for entrance into the nsg program. Also check w/local colleges to see if they offer calculus as a mini-term. Or the internet to see if you someone offers it as a online course. Good luck to you.
  12. Brnsugar, I know how you feel, I'm studying for the second round myself. Like someone said, pm suzanne w/your email address, don't post it here. she'll send you some good info to help you get started. Also, there's a book in the stores made by Kaplan on NCLEX test taking strategies. It's an easy read & some of the strategies helped me alot, especially when it came to breaking down the practice questions. Hope this help some.
  13. Wow, is been at least 5yrs since I took that exam. They did have a book that you could study from. back then the book was pretty much on pt w/the exam. i don't know how it is now-a-days. Try going back a few threads, like page 8, I saw a few people talking about the NET in those threads. I hope this helps. But to answer your question, the reading/comprehension part is really a section you can't study for. it's like short stories that you read, then, they may pull a few questions from content in the story.
  14. I heard of this happening to a classmate. the only thing you can do is, pay for it again and reschedule a date. hopefully you'll get a date/near the date that you want. best wishes to ya!!
  15. We never realize how much stuff we have, until it's time to move, rt. Best wishes to you, and have a safe trip on your 200 mile journey.
