Dothan's Wallace Community College
Hi DUECSON, I am sorry to hear that. On 03/01/07 are the application packages for nursing school starting August 07 available. At present my husband and I are thinking of the possibility that I quit college. It is because of the visa problems. At this time are no visas for nurses available und for a H-1B you have to wait round 5 years. We are not shure that my husband and I are able to stay the hole time. I guess we should make our decision soon. I wish you all the best and good luck for your plans. Petra1

Dothan's Wallace Community College
I am an international student from Germany and my start in Wallace is January, 8th, with the academics. I hope to enter nursing school in August 07. All I have seen and heard about was excellent. Wallace has a very very good reputation in the area. Ms. Jacobs from the international affair office is a very very kind Lady, very helpful - just loveable. Hope to earn good grades during academics. Does anybody know something about the COMPASS test? I am very grateful for information. I must confess that I am very nervous about tests... @ DUECSON You are accepted? Congratulation! Hope to see a few people from here in Wallace :nuke: . Petra

Anyone in Enterprise or Dothan area?
@LoriAlabamaRN You wrote me a very kind pm when I´ve entered this forum. Sorry for beeing offline since October 05. I´ve prepared myself for the TOEFL. It was real hard work. But I passed in March this year. And on April 21st I´ve sent my application to Wallace. So now please keep your fingers crossed. When we visited Wallace first time I felt home. It´s a very nice campus and the staff there - espacially Ms. Jacobs - is very helpful and couthie. @ militaryspouse and militaryspouse98 Here is another Ft. Rucker Fan :) . My husband is a flight instructor and helicopter pilot with the German Army. He did all his flight training in Rucker. Well, when I´m followed him to his examiner course in 2003 I´ve lost my heart to Rucker. Since then we are dreaming about living in the Dothan area. My husband has a close friend in Newton. And so we´re working very hard on coming back. Because we both aren´t US Citizen we have to immigrate. Therefor we need a visa. So I decided to become a RN in the US, not in Germany. May your husbands be safe all the time! Petra1

Recommendation/Colleges (ADN-RN) in Alabama
@all Thanks for sharing your experiences. Wallace is my favourite at this time (but a little bit expensive). @ LoriAlabamaRN We know the Dothan area very well. My husband is a helicopter pilot with the German Army and did most of his flight training in Fort Rucker, AL. We have a close friend in Newton. We love the people and the area around Ft. Rucker and so I am dreaming about studying at Wallace. We will see where the future will take us.. Petra1

Outlook for Schedule A-Visa
Hi there, I am dreaming of becoming a RN in the United States. Because of this I will apply at some Colleges this November. I know about the Visa-problems. So I´d like to know your opinion if it is possible to find a sponsor and get a job after College. I will give up my social security for the studies: my job (so does my husband) and our house, everything. Our savings will be eaten up by the course of studies. So I need a little bit secureness whether I can get a job after college or rather not. I know that no person is a visionary. I would like to hear your opinion. Thank you for your support. Yours, Petra
