not sure I passed the nclex -- help!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Took the test today and found the questions very difficult, nothing like the saunders review book or what I learned in school or the review I attended. The test stopped at question157 -- such an odd number. three students in my class passed last week and all said the test ended at 85 and said they felt the same way I did. I had passed all my exit exams but this nclex left me stumped and feel awful right now. The questions were all hard and at one point I just started guessing at every question from 85 on and stopped at question 157. I really think and know I failed:uhoh3:. Now I have to wait out the weekend till tuesday night for the result.

Can anyone let me know what their experience was like.

Did you find out your results??

Mine shut off at 85 and im from california so i still have about 2 1/2 weeks to wait for my results. Talk about stressful!

I "unofficially" passed :lol2:. Thank God. I was sure I failed but I guess the number of questions doesn't matter. 85 was good enough :uhoh3:

Congrats :balloons:

I took the NCLEX today. Nothing like I expected. I am really depressed right now. The machine shut off after 75 questions, I really don't think I passed. Lots of priority questions, some meds I never heard of etc a few select all that apply. I have been crying on and off all day. This is going to be the longest 2 days in my recent memory. I have resigned myself that I will be retaking the test in 45 days ( I think that is what NYS allows). Actually when the machine shut off I felt relief because I was glad to be done and I just wanted to go home because in my mind I know I did not pass. I was confident going in there have been answering thousands of questions and reviewing rationales etc to the ones I got wrong. I almost dont want to waste the money for the quick result. I am sorry to wallow in pity right now but I just need to vent to those who may understand. Thanks for listening.

Most of us walk away with that feeling of failure and confusion after that horrible exam, but also, most of us were pleasently surprized and have done better than we thought. I also live in New York, and took my exam last year. To this day, I do not remember how I got home from the testing site in a rain storm. But, I passed with minimum questions. There is no reason why the same cannot happen for you. Keep us posted and best of luck to you.

Thanks I will keep you posted. It is just going to be a real long time until Thursday morning. I almost feel guilty for taking the night off. I have to work tomorrow and Thursday so maybe that will at least make the days go by. Thanks for the support...the shoulder feels good! ;)

it's been 5 days since I took the exams, i've been checking the Ca BRN website twice a day and I still haven't seen my name on it..The computer shut off at the 75th question, I had three SATA questions, lots of priority and delegations and one medication which I've never heard of before..does that mean I failed? I've been having stomach ache these past couple of days which must be due to hyperacidity or ulcer most probably. I wish I could find out the results sooner, the suspense is killing me.

If you do not have a SSN it will take several weeks before you find out as no SSN means you will not see your name on the website so have to wait for a letter
