SUNY Farmingdale Spring 2015

Published

Has anyone else applied for Spring 2015? I sent in my application/transcripts about a month ago. I spoke to a guy in admissions yesterday, he told me in about 2 weeks letters will be going out saying to schedule interviews directly with the nursing department. After all the interviews, the nursing department will chose 50 students and acceptance letters would be going out around Dec. 1st. Does anyone know how many students typically apply to this program?

That's actually really wrong to do to people. I don't understand how they can say beginning of December and now only a week or two before the semester starts. Nothing like last minute. People need to plan for instance now I am going to be telling my job last minute if I am coming back or better yet what about if you don't get in you are too late to go anywhere else

But I really think they already have some decisions made because I literally called admissions yesterday and they said they already have decisions from the nursing department and they are sending letters out this week and next week so maybe if you took your interview a while ago you will find out in December vs people who are interviewing now may find out in January. Anyways good luck I hope we all get in!!

Really last minute.. I wish we could get our decisions sooner.. I just had my interview and I dont want to wait a month to hear back so I can't imagine nearly 2 months.. When did you have you interview?

When oh spoke to admin. Did they say they've made some decisions and are mailing out letters or that's theyve made some decisions and will mail out all the letters at the same time..

I don't think that can be correct. Maybe they will send out letters to their first choices for the program. Usually you have a specific time period to let them know if you are accepting the offer or not, then they will let their second choices know if they were accepted. A lot of schools do that. They usually do interviews in sequence by who their top choices are.

Example: If you were offered the first round of interview dates then you were at the top of their list.

Yea maybe it's rolling admissions at this point? And I know I applied to a school in Florida and their semester starts January 4th. I already decided not to go but if I had to decide between the 2 that would be impossible. And yea same with me about work it's a last minute resignation then, it's not really fair.

I don't think you're at the top of a list if you we're offered and interview first. I wasn't even offered to take Farmingdales TEAS exam until they had already started interviews and those were the only dates I know of that they offered for the exam

If that's the case that they are doing it in a sequence, shouldn't people who had their interview already gotten some type of notification either acceptance or denied?

When did they start interviews and when did you take your teas test?

I took my TEAS November 1st they also offered October 18th and I know people were already interviewing in October

That's when I took my test aswell.. I think it's all about the time in which you applied and took the test and got back to them.. Cause I took the test with my friend and she responded to the letter we got in the mail sooner than I did and she got offered and interview at the end of November

I don't remember when I took it I believe it was October 8th (if that was the first day of interviews) I got the letter stating I was accepted for an interview October 1st. When I called admissions the guy said the nursing department has been slowly sending down their decisions and the latest I should get a letter is by next week and if I don't get a letter by then then I should contact the department. If they don't let us know by January it's sucky because I then need to apply to other schools like stony brook for fall and their application deadline is jan 1st or 2nd so If I get into farmingdale and I don't know it yet I will be wasting $50 on an application to another school
