I got a call today that my polio vaccination record is missing and I won't be able to register without it...

I had the vax as an infant but the records cannot be found now. I was not born in the U.S. and have no idea how to go about tracking down the record (if it still exists) and I am not interested in being re-vaccinated. Maybe I can get a doctor's letter that he doesn't recommend a repeat vaccination.

your doctor can run blood tests to confirm your immunity. But I think polio is one of the ones you have to get every 10 years or so, I got a booster a couple of years ago, before I moved abroad, even though I has it as a child.

good luck

I got my acceptance letter the end of February.

Chaya, you will need to get blood work done for a polio titer to prove that you already have immunity.

Chaya,

I did not get a call yet, but I have the same situation!

My physician had left the Polio vaccination dates blank on the form, and when I asked why, he said that it was not required and I did not need it. I too was born outside US and no records have been saved.

I guess the school will contact me later than you, because I brought in the forms just this Monday.

But when they called, did they say what can you do at this point to resolve this?

I got the call from the admissions office, not the health office. She told me I have to call the student health office to find out how to resolve it. At the time the student health office was closed. I'll have to call back sometime today to find out.

If there's a simple blood test that shows immunity to polio I can just do that.

my friend had the same problem with polio information. i told her that my doctor wrote; “childhood” for the polio date. my friend then wrote “childhood” on the extra copy of her health form, and took it to the student health office. it worked for her, and you can do the same. go to student health office, tell the person in charge that you took it in your childhood, and give her the extra copy of your health clearance form with the information, “childhood" where polio date is required.

Hi everyone:

I have been accepted to the accelerated BSN program. YEY

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Hi,

Does anyone know if we are expected to take out a professional Liability Insurance (student status)? Either it was for Binghamton or I can't seem to find it among my Downstate forms.

Thanks

Yes, I saw it somewhere in the forms, although I don't remember seeing information on how to order it.

Hello All,

I'm Cathy and I will be seeing you in June....yeah yeah! What's everyone doing about the meningitis vaccine? I'm kinda up in the air about it...

Thanks

It's not a requirement. You just need to sign that you read the form and either agreed or did not agree to the shot. When I did my physical I asked my PCP about it, but she said that since I'm in my 30s and not living in a dorm I'm not in the risk category.

FYI....I went to the bookstore today and copied the list of books for the summer. I got all the ISBN #'s... the books are a lot cheaper on amazon.com or half.com. I anticipate spending at leat $600 on books this summer.

The uniform couldn't be uglier -- the description on the package said "chef's coat"!

Hey,

can you post the textbook titles or email them to me ... I'm hoping to avoid paying the whole price as well.

Thanks!

Kiera
