SUNY Downstate ABSN 2020-2021

Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.

My app is completed but my math pre-req is pending, as I'm finishing it up this semester.

I also got a phone call to schedule an interview! I can’t do Thursday so I scheduled it for Tuesday, 12/10. That is the correct name of the contact, though.

I submitted my application 9/10.

This is so nerve wracking!

Happy to hear people have started getting called in for interviews!

I think I had read in another thread somewhere that they conducted group interviews; was that the same case this time?

I submitted my application late October, but submitted my TEAS score a few weeks ago so I wonder if they go in order of completed application or submitted application.

I'm also thinking they extended the deadline because they weren't getting as many applicants this year? *shrugs*

Hi all,

I got a phone call yesterday inviting me to interview 12/10. Can anyone answer what kind of questions and such to expect in the interview? I read in previous years its a group interview and each person answers 3 Q at random. If anyone has more information can you please share?

Hi all, received a voicemail from the nursing program regarding interviews. I was able to call back and schedule the interview next Tuesday afternoon! They did offer me a spot for tomorrow's group but it was a very last minute notice.
