SUNY Downstate ABSN 2020-2021
If I may....I see I on the website that the summer tuition is always a per-credit fee, rather than flat tuition fee. I think the summer credit load is quite high, so total will come out closer to 17/18K, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Can anyone in the current program confirm the summer/"per credit" policy?

@NurseDan I was next to you! The one who reads fantasy novels to de-stress. LOL! FYI to all: my app still says "screening in process" and was like that pretty much through the whole process. Furthermore, my admission checklist has never been updated, even after I submitted my fall grades just before xmas. So, I wouldn't put much stock in the statuses! As far as interviews, I do want to offer this: I would recommend spending the night before doing some serious reflecting on major events in your life that have shaped you, made you learn something, or were difficult. Anything that brought you to the nursing path. The interview questions are randomly assigned, so you can't really prep answers. But as long as you have your personal, monumental moments in your brain, you will be fine. When you are asked a question, take a breath and let a memory surface. Look people in the eye and trust your story. They want to get to know you. And there are no wrong answers. I would also advise to be specific. Talk about a specific event, how it specifically made you feel, how it changed you or made you learn something. Don't be afraid to be personal.

SUNY Downstate ABSN 2020-2021
I just submitted my app today! Worried about the chances with rolling admissions, but didn't have time to work on it until last weekend! My stats: TEAs are approx 89 reading, 94 Math, 83 Science, 100 English, 90 overall. Science pre-reqs 4.0; Cum pre-reqs 3.8. Minimal volunteer experience (multiple soup kitchens and ONCE in a hospital). Also, I am finishing up two pre-reqs this semester (Micro and statistics) and two in the spring (Anthro and Socio). And one of my recommendations hasn't been submitted yet :/. Like someone else mentioned, as of now I am ONLY applying to SUNY Downstate. It's just my only choice location-wise, price, and reputation. If I don't get in, I would rather wait a year and apply again with more volunteer exp and an earlier submitted app. Good luck to everyone!
