Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.

Hi @bachelor I end up going to the interview with my suitcase! The idea of rescheduling and losing my spot terrified me. I would suggest try to make it to the interview that they asked for. If you absolutely can't make it, give them a call back today instead of waiting for the call.

Thank you! I know. I am completely blown away. I feel like I won the lotto - now it’s time to prep for impact! Enrolling in patho and pharma to get ahead, haha.
I interviewed last Wednesday morning 1/8, and received acceptance yesterday morning 1/14.

@michelle.singh60, would you have any words of wisdom to share for newly accepted students? Any pro’s or con’s to keep in mind?
What’s orientation like?
How about registering for classes? Do you get to pick your professors and lecture times?
What’s the vacation like for ABSN students?
Thanks for any insight you are willing to share! ?

SUNY D allows students to get ahead like this? I thought I read that they don't accept credits from patho and pharma?

I don't think they will accept pharma, but according to the 2019 program of study and the current 2019-2020 handbook online, apparently they do accept patho and a few other courses... see the links below.

Orientation is two parts, day 1 is school-wide and day 2 is CON. They both take up the entire day so keep your schedule cleared.
Your classes are pre-registered, you don't have a say in professor or lecture time so you must be flexible.
You have 1 week off in August, and around a month in December after finals.
A pro is that the program is very cheap compared to other schools, but its kind of messy because our old director left and there's a brand new director in charge right now. Most of the old professors are replaced with new professors so I can't say much about that.

I got called maybe 2 and a half months after submitting my application so try not to worry too much I know it’s easier said than done
