I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.
Is it just me or when compared to the other suny forum (stony brook), this one is unusually quiet? Also, it appears not many people have interviewed? Is that the case?
Should I be worried that some people are getting acceptance letters and I haven't even gotten a request for an interview. My application still says screening in process. ?
Congrats to everyone that have been accepted. My application says screening in process. At the time of submitting it I did not have the grades back for Sociology and Lifespan that I took last Fall. They never asked me to submit those but I am trying to decide if I should since now I have them, or should I wait for their request?
@nursetobeM, me too since 12/2... I thought I was a very competitive candidate... fingers still crossed... ?
Also anxiously waiting... I’m hoping it might be because they keep extending the deadline so they just haven’t finished with my app yet. Especially since I was missing this past fall semester grades but uploaded them on the 27th. were you also waiting on any pre-req grades?
@NurseDan did you receive the request from them to upload the Fall grades?They never send me one and I am scared to upload those since they are saying not to update anything unless requested
No, but on 10/28 I received a notice that additional info were needed (tea scores) prior to sending to the review committee. On 11/27 I submitted, and on 12/2 I received another notice that my app was forwarded to the program and it has been with them since.
@NurseDan when did you submit your application? I'm wondering if they're processing applications based on when they received them. You and I have very similar credentials, but I submitted my application in very early September. Perhaps that could be a reason why, especially since they extended the deadline.
