I wanted to start a thread about the upcoming application process for SUNY Downstate ABSN. There is a fantastic thread for the previous round of applications last year, and I thought this would be a good forum for us to share any information that we might have about Downstate's admission process as we go through it together. Good luck everyone!!!

Did anyone get a call for interview today? Does anyone know if they call everyday? Am anxiously waiting and hoping I get a call.

One of my classmate's friends have already been contacted for interviews, so hang tight!

Do you have any tips for the interviews? Like potential questions, certain things to focus on, how many people do you interview with, how many questions do each person get? I would really appreciate it. They called me yesterday, the 13th, for an interview and my interview is this Friday, 16th. So I'm excited, but extremely nervous.

@michelle does this mean that they contact students based on how much they like the applicant? Still have yet to receive a call :(

Theres a point system based off of your application on whether or not you get an interview. Depending on when you submitted your app, if you reach the amount of points for an interview you will be called. Hence when they say "80% science TEAS preferred", it give you extra points that go towards whether or not you get called for an interview.

Hi! Congrats on getting an interview. For my interview, it was a group of 5 students with 2 current professors interviewing you. The questions were a broad variety and is randomized from a list of hundreds of questions. You should expect 3-4 questions per person.

Were they like get to know you questions mostly?

yes :) the interview is more to see you in person and whether or not you'll be a good fit.

Okay thank you! I really appreciate it!

hi @michelle.singh60, do you know the ratio for how many candidates get selected for an interview to how many are actually accepted? and are decisions sent out after all interviews have been conducted, or do they also send out decisions based on when you had your interview? I just got called for an interview today, so I'm extremely happy but also nervous!

For my interview, 4/5 candidates were accepted! We found out about our decision 3-5 days after our interview.

@michelle.singh60 thank you! I can't believe they give you decisions that fast, this makes me nervous now! Is there anything I should look out for in terms of the interview, and how did you prep for yours? any advice would be appreciated!
