I wanted to start a thread about the upcoming application process for SUNY Downstate ABSN. There is a fantastic thread for the previous round of applications last year, and I thought this would be a good forum for us to share any information that we might have about Downstate's admission process as we go through it together. Good luck everyone!!!
Does anyone know what are the most important components for acceptance to SUNY Downstate? I have an excellent GPA (3.95), and what I think is a compelling essay, but no medical experience. I do work at an optical center and I used to be a massage therapist, but I don't know if either of those really counts. I also still have to complete 2 pre-reqs next semester (A&P2 and a Sociology/Anthropology elective)
Just wondering if they only except people with more medical and volunteering experience.

It's a holistic application process. My current cohort has people with no med experience at all (accountant, philosopher, english major)
