I wanted to start a thread about the upcoming application process for SUNY Downstate ABSN. There is a fantastic thread for the previous round of applications last year, and I thought this would be a good forum for us to share any information that we might have about Downstate's admission process as we go through it together. Good luck everyone!!!

I am currently in program and what I can say is that admissions decisions could be made through May if this year is anything like last. However, if you have other schools you were accepted to, make sure to secure your seat just in case.
Wowww that’s so crazy ? how are we supposed to make plans like living arrangements, travel, work schedules etc.
Just an update on the topic of "hearing back". I submitted by the deadline (Nov 30th) and have still not gotten a decision. I emailed Admissions mid-February and they said my application is still under review with no decisions rendered yet....maybe this will put some of you at ease, who also haven't heard back.

I'm in the same boat. I actually called admissions today and they said that they're still reviewing since they have not seen all the submitted applications as yet. They just sent out rejections so at least I'm not in that group it seems and to just be patient. Looks like May decisions will happen this year. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Hey everyone who’s still waiting for an admission decision:
i just spoke with admissions about the interview process. I’m leaving town for about three weeks and wanted to know how I’d navigate my interview, and they basically said “don’t, if you don’t have too, because there may not be time to re-schedule the interview.” I told them I was going to be returning to NY around April 17, and that was the response. Soo if you have any long distance travel I’d recommend you wait or try to change your plans!

Hey just wanted to let you know I just got a voice mail about the interviews. I'm going to have to call back and tell them I won't go bc change of plans and I'll reapply next year
Hopefully you get a call soon!
Hello all and good morning ☀️
I’ve been a reader of this helpful thread for a few weeks now. This is a long shot but if anyone is out there still looking at this thread, I was invited for an interview next week. I was one of the applicants who applied very late to the ABSN program (Nov 29th ?), and was starting to doubt that I’d even get an interview.
Although I have yet to be accepted, I’m trying to plan ahead in the hopes that I am. I have two little ones and looking at daycare options, so I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted would be willing to share the projected schedule for this program? I’m assuming they’ve put that information out already to accepted students.
Thanks so much in advance for taking the time to read this, and I’d truly appreciate any information you could provide as far as class/clinical schedules go.
Sincerely,
Lynda

Hey this might be a long shot. I was wait listed from the program a bit over a month ago. I know many other schools are still making decisions. I was wondering if anyone who got accepted have either decided to not attend or are waiting for other schools and Downstate isn't your first choice.
