Suny downstate absn 2018-2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone.

I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for the 2018-2019 program at downstate? Hoping we can all loop each other in on the status.

Yea.... 3 more days till deadline. As per 2017-18 forum the first person who posted their acceptance was 12/6, and many soon after that sooooooo fingers cross we'll hear something back in 2-3 weeks

Hi. I applied at the end of August. I'm hoping we find out by next week. Nice to meet everyone.

I spoke to the director today, Professor Carr. She said that they are doing interviews but haven't contacted any applicants yet.

Well then, it looks like you were right ^ my stress levels just doubled

Lol right! Ugh, that just made me more nervous and I'm thinking it's so late into the year to do interviews... I don't understand how they plan on making decisions by Dec/Jan.

I wonder if they will be doing interviews for everybody, or just the people at the cutoff? Doing 500+ interviews in a month would be nothing short of impressive

Nahhhh they're gonna narrow it down and to interviews for a few.

Well that's going to be tough for them. I hope we all get called for interviews *prays*. Seems like we all submitted way earlier though (Mine was complete the beginning of Nov.) so hopefully that means good things for us.

I used to interview prospective students for my university. An interview won't make or break an application, it's more like a supplement to get a feel for the students applying. I'm also feeling anxious (I think that's perfectly normal though). At this point I just want to hear good news, whether that's an acceptance or an interview request. Deadline is tomorrow!

Thank you, that actually makes me feel a little bit better about it when I look at it that way! and I hope that we all hear good news!

Thanks! I definitely feel better as well. I wish I knew the exact number of applicants there are lol.

Does any one know how many students they take per year?
