  1. I got an acceptance letter through email this past Friday, so they are still reviewing applications! It took a while but always remember, no news is good news.
  2. Hi all! I also applied (back in January) and haven’t heard anything back. I emailed one of the admissions reps on March 11th, and he told me that the program was still reviewing all of our applications and said I could expect to hear back “hopefully in the coming weeks”... that being said, that was before COVID-19 shut the whole city down ?
  3. I agree with Kate. Everyone was pretty well dressed and professional. You definitely don't need to go overboard since it's a pretty laid back experience, but it's always better to be overdressed than to risk looking like you don't care
  4. Exactly one week later! (Although Dr. Carr was telling us it may or may not take longer, depending on how quickly admissions gets back to us and all)
  5. I don't remember exactly, but if I had to guess, I'd say about an hour. There's no individual interview, but she does give everyone a sheet of paper where you have to give a written response to one question (probably to test writing skills.) The question is very general and not complicated, but definitely bring a pen!
  6. It's a group interview with the Director of Nursing, usually 5 or so other applicants in the room. It's pretty easygoing and comfortable, in my opinion. There's a bank of questions, and she's going to make you all choose a number, which will correspond to a question, so everyone gets different questions. Honestly the only advice that you need is not to overthink it, and just be yourself and you'll be fine ^
  7. I totally feel you on the sketchy-ness/taking the subway home at night. I've been there a few times for open houses, info sessions and the interview, and it definitely doesn't feel like the safest area but I've been okay so far. I'm sure in the FB group or even at orientation, a bunch of us can figure out who takes which trains and we can work out a buddy system so at least we all don't have to do it alone
  8. Hey all! I just got my acceptance. I managed to find the FB group (idk if I can put the link here but I will try) the group is called "SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN 2018-2019" Log into Facebook | Facebook
  9. Just wanted to keep everybody in the loop: I JUST got called for an interview, so we are moving along!
  10. Best of luck! I'm sorry we didn't have any tips, I don't think any of us did an interview here yet!
  11. @ Everyone who got calls, how complete are your applications? another possibility is that they are waiting for the semester to be over before they proceed with anybody whos app is pending Fall semester grades
  12. This is super helpful, thank you so much! I have all my recommendations and transcripts in, I'm just waiting on this semester to end so I can send them the rest of my prereq scores. Otherwise, it still says "Forwarded to admissions committee for review"
  13. RIP to those of us who didn't get called yet :)
