Hello Everyone.

I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for the 2018-2019 program at downstate? Hoping we can all loop each other in on the status.

It's a group interview with the Director of Nursing, usually 5 or so other applicants in the room. It's pretty easygoing and comfortable, in my opinion. There's a bank of questions, and she's going to make you all choose a number, which will correspond to a question, so everyone gets different questions. Honestly the only advice that you need is not to overthink it, and just be yourself and you'll be fine ^

Can I also ask, how long is the interview all together? There won't be individual interview afterwards?

Hello! Just wondering if anyone who interviewed last week has received anything yet? Dr. Carr had mentioned that she was pushing to give us decisions by Monday but I haven't received anything yet. Just wondering as I have been having issues with receiving email from downstate and I can't figure out why.

I don't remember exactly, but if I had to guess, I'd say about an hour. There's no individual interview, but she does give everyone a sheet of paper where you have to give a written response to one question (probably to test writing skills.) The question is very general and not complicated, but definitely bring a pen!

Hello, I was also invited for the interview on 1/25 but i did not receive any email conformation. did you ?

the interview time is 11 am right ? and how are u preparing for the interview if i may ask.

Yes, it is at 11am! I'm not really preparing for the interview since I've been reading these posts stating that its pretty easy going and comfortable.

Hey everyone! I got accepted as well and am going to join the facebook group. I'll be looking for roommates and definitely an apartment either in an inexpensive (ish) part of Manhattan or possibly Crown Heights/ near campus.

If you look for a place in Manhattan, you will definitely need roommates. Rent is ridiculously high in Manhattan (I've seen studio apartments at least 2200+/month). I think you will have an easier time finding a place in Brooklyn (though not all parts are cheap. It's going to become the next Manhattan.) I used to live there in Crown Heights, but that was 4 or 5 years ago. So take what i said with that in mind lol
