I just wanted to create a thread for those of us who are applying to the accelerated program at SUNY Brockport for Summer/2016. I have already submitted my application and I am wishing everyone the best of luck. I hope you guys get into the program you desire. I decided that I wanted to apply to Brockport because I needed a change of scenery. Coming from New York City I feel like Brockport is the financially responsible thing to do.
I am encouraging people who are currently attending the program write about their experiences and provide us with any advice as we embark on the journey of nursing school!!!
Definitely a lot more intense! It's a lot of information in such a short amount of time. But I feel you might as well try for a BSN because you'd get it in the same amount of time, if not sooner, than an associates. I plan to transfer into a regular 2yr BSN program if I don't get into an accelerated one.
I think that the work load is the same. It's just condensed into one year. I've heard that the accelerated program is actually easier than even the 2 year traditional program at the school.

I just found out today that I was accepted into the program today as well. Did any of you apply to other schools? If so, how are you making your decisions?

I was previously accepted to the University of Rochester program starting in January but it was too expensive so I had to back out. Brockport was my only other option and I'm definitely excited to be going! They have a new nursing building and I've heard the program is great.
