Summer school anyone?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey guys!!!!

well for all of us pre nursing students...anyone taking classes during the summer or doing anything exciting?

For me, I am taking philosophy: logic

and

Intro to psychology:yawn:

meh talk about a very BORING 6-week summer...

and the topper? I have class at 8 am! ARGH, not the way I wanted to start summer. And no, there is no other class being offered, so I need this logic class for the BSN program I am applying for this Oct!

After class gets out (around early August) I have like 3 weeks off until regular semester starts...blah, I will probably be working fulltime...

As for extra-curricular activities? Besides working the weekends, I will be either looking for a HC job or volunteering.

What about everyone else!?!?!?

Specializes in Emergency Department.

Crossing my fingers for summer school here!! I'm stationed overseas right now, so all of my paperwork is taking forever to reach my college.

But, if all goes well, it will be A&P I for me this summer.

Awesome well ill start a TEAS for us summer people.

As for everyone else...anyone applying fall semester? I apply to one school in Oct. And the.other two schools in.Jan

I'm taking two online classes....Public Speaking and Humanities....fun, fun!

Taking Intro to Statistics and Lifespan development this summer.

Also having a 1-year old boy (gosh, he is ACTIVE) and full-time job. I'm doing my classes on-line though

I'm in for the summer and will be taking Human Development and Statistics. Both online so I'm looking at it as kind of a break. No getting up early to get ready to go to classes so I'm looking forward to quickly finishing these courses. Back to a regular semester this fall w/12 credit hours this time. No going overboard on sciences and developing knots in my shoulders as the semester progresses! I'll be applying for nursing programs during the summer :)

I miss online courses!

Most of the online courses they offered are now gone due to state budget cuts....

oh do I miss them!

I'm taking Microbiology (blended course, with online content and twice weekly labs in the classroom) and Sociology. I'll only be on campus two days a week, but on those days I'll be there until 10pm. Glad the semester is only six weeks!

Specializes in Critical Care, Trauma.

This summer besides working fulltime... I am taking professional and technical writing and basic medical terminology... by the end of fall semester I will have all my associate pre reqs done... I volly at a local fire company running pre hospital and the best part hang out with my 3 and 4 year olds and wife... possibly get a new job (hopefully) considering I may need a 3rd back surgery... NOTHING is going to keep me down though... GOD has a plan for all of us...

I love your attitude!!!!!

My Spring Semester is coming to an end, only for Summer classes to begin 2 weeks after that! I'm taking A &P I, A&P II, and Chemistry. Thankfully I'll be taking just one A&P at a time with the Chemistry, but classes meet M-TH for basically the whole morning to day....I have become a workaholic at my new CNA job, but I know school is more important in the long term so I'm getting ready to focus all my attention on these summer classes. :nurse:

some advice use lifts as much as possible and don't kill your back for anyone... this in the long run will make you an awesome rn... started as an aide, and have a good back... i believe a good rn always starts as an aide... good luck with your sciences...

I'm doing micro and inorganic chem this summer, and possibly lifespan psych if I don't get a job as a cna. I'm doing precalc and my cna course right now, so I hope to be working part-time and too busy to add lifespan to the mix!
