has anyone else here been studying and reading everyday since thier classes started? i have..... am i being normal or am i over doing it? i know that is a silly question. but, i see myself feeling guilty if i am not studying or reading. and truthfully there really is not a time when there is something that doesnt need to be done...whether it is prepare for the next exam by doing notecards or reading over a chapter you have read already just to make sure you comprehend it. or studying dosages. wow...believe me im not complaining, just curious. may sound silly, but i love doing it all.

good for you! you definitely should be reading everyday. i am not one to feel like reading everyday and i procrastinate. keep doing what you're doing....you're not overdoing it, just don't stress out if you forget to read one day out of the week or something. remember to give yourself some down time! :) you'll be a great nurse

I honestly feel that reading is key to nursing school, but don't just read to read, read to understand. In my program we tend to teach ourselves everything. I don't feel that I get much from my professors, so I basically read the book, understand the concepts and apply them in clinical. Reading from my perspective is very important.

Well, for me...NO. There is always something one can learn from reading. I think this includes postings here, a textbook or an online resourse. I feel guilty too sometimes but breaks, taking care of yourself are important too. You do need some downtime too!!
I am heading into my second year, ADN for RN . I took my boards for LPN and have been reviewing, learning since June and starting it all again in Sept. Will it make me a better nurse?....I don't know. But for me....I know it builds my confidence level.
It's not about what others think....You need to do what YOU feel is right for you. I think there needs to be a balance in one's life...we don't want to burn out before we get started. :)

it's what i did and that was back in 1973. everything is new material. at some point it doesn't require as much reading as some of the information starts to get repetitive. even today when i am trying to learn something new i often have to read one paragraph over slowly and sentence by sentence in order to get a good understanding and comprehension of it. grade school is long gone, kiddo. :heartbeat

I read and study every day as well. It's the only way to keep up with everything. The amount of work each week is actually staggering. You are doing the right thing - the worst thing that can happen is that you fall behind in your reading....it is very difficult to "catch up".
