Students Applying for SHSU Fall 2015 Nursing Program

Published

Hello!

Anyone who is applying to Sam Houston's fall 2015 nursing program is welcomed on this thread. Me and one other person had a conversation going on Sam Houston's Fall 2014 thread, but we decided to make our own. Please comment if you are applying! We were talking about TEAS scores, GPA, and other things on the other page and want to continue to talk about anything related to SHSU's nursing program on this page. Please make an account and comment/ask questions/share what you know about the program so we can get a good conversation going. Advisors are helpful, but so is this website, and, of course, other nursing students! :) Thanks.

You would think a 3.4 GPA and an 85 on the teas would be enough lol. There's always spring.

Are y'all transfers? I know someone who was on the wait list and got in with a 3.46 and a 75 on the teas. I know it's rare that transfers get in because if your an SHSU student you get extra points. I know last spring they only took 2 transfers for the huntsville location.

I applied to shsu to the Huntsville location and didn't get in also. I have a 3.43 gpa overall and a 3.28 prerequisite gpa. I also made a 79 on my teas exam. I really don't want to retake any classes to try to get my gpa up I feel like that's really the best I can do. Do you guys know of some other options in Texas for BSN progams

try out UTMB they require a lower gpa there of a 2.75

I read that only 20 students get in at the woodlands campus. Des anyone know how many are accepted at the Huntsville campus? TIA

Forty people are accepted at the huntsville location.

Hey everyone, I was just accepted to the SHSU program on the main campus for Spring of 16. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm applying for fall 2016 now so I can't help you, but do you mind sharing your teas score and overall and pre-nursing gpa?

3.7 and a 74 on my Teasv

Relax and enjoy the next few months leading up to school! No need to prepare really, but start your vaccinations as soon as possible because the series can take a while.
