Students Applying for SHSU Fall 2015 Nursing Program

Published

Hello!

Anyone who is applying to Sam Houston's fall 2015 nursing program is welcomed on this thread. Me and one other person had a conversation going on Sam Houston's Fall 2014 thread, but we decided to make our own. Please comment if you are applying! We were talking about TEAS scores, GPA, and other things on the other page and want to continue to talk about anything related to SHSU's nursing program on this page. Please make an account and comment/ask questions/share what you know about the program so we can get a good conversation going. Advisors are helpful, but so is this website, and, of course, other nursing students! :) Thanks.

Found it! Just typed in "SHSU Fall 2015" and it was the first link :) thank you!! Can't wait to hear from all the other people applying as well. Good luck to everyone!

Hello all!

I have applied to TWU and UTHSC.

I am considering applying to SHSU if I don't get into either one of those, since their deadline is so far away.

I heard you can apply to either the Woodlands or the Huntsville campus, is that correct or only the Huntsville campus?

From what I understand, you can apply to both campuses. I applied to UTHSC as well. It's a long shot, but I didn't want to regret not trying.

Have you completed all of your prereqs?

Thanks

Ya applying there was a long shot for me 2, but I figured why not.

I'm done with my pre reqs. Are you?

I am a student at shsu and you can only apply to one location.

Aw man. I guess I'll be applying to The Woodlands campus only then. I have completed all of the prereqs, but I may have to retake Intro to Sociology and a history since some people mentioned the requirements are a little different than other schools.

Hello all! I plan on applying for the SHSU Nursing Program in the Fall. I believe that they are accepting 20 applicants into their Woodlands Campus program, but I am not exactly confident in that number though. I will be applying to The Woodlands Center and I have also applied to A&M main campus. I am a bit nervous to apply to the Woodlands since there is such a small pool of accepted applicants. Anyhow, nice to meet you all, and good luck to everyone!

You are correct. The woodlands takes 20 students. I'm applying to the Huntsville location since I go to Sam. I feel like you shouldn't be nervous! The woodlands is newer, so to me it's like the best kept secret lol. Also, has anyone submitted their application yet? I didn't wanna start it till I knew what it was like and knew what we had to do once we started it.

Thanks, I agree with that point, but at the same time being confident that you are in the top 20 of all the applicants that accept is a little nerve wracking. I clicked on the application to view it and it is the most basic application I have come across. You need to only enter a minimal amount of information, and they already have your prerequisites and grades listed for you. I have to wait to apply until I can confirm that my Art class will count because it is not showing up. Also, once you open it you are not obligated to submit it.

I am nervous about making the top 40. Still a small number compared to other schools...I figured the application would be simple. I just wanted to make sure you could save it and go back correct? Or is it just one page and you click submit? Also, was your teas score on there or does it show anything about the teas?

Yes, that is true. The A&M Select Track is an even smaller cohort of 10, yikes! The program is a rigorous BSN-FNP program that only takes 3 years to complete.

The application is only one page and does not allow you to save any information from my understanding. I have clicked on it s few times already because the BSN program was not showing up until today. I have been able to click on it multiples times and view the information without consequence.
