  1. I'm applying for fall 2016 now so I can't help you, but do you mind sharing your teas score and overall and pre-nursing gpa?
  2. Forty people are accepted at the huntsville location.
  3. Are y'all transfers? I know someone who was on the wait list and got in with a 3.46 and a 75 on the teas. I know it's rare that transfers get in because if your an SHSU student you get extra points. I know last spring they only took 2 transfers for the huntsville location.
  4. Hey! I was supposed to apply for fall. I was gonna take micro over the summer but I got a D in physiology. I did summer school last summer and took a class over the winter break as well so I thought I should just take a break this summer since I've pretty much been doing school non stop since my freshman year. I need advice...I only have 2 classes left to complete- retake physiology and take micro. However, since I got a D I don't think I can take them at the same time. I am going up to huntsville this Thursday so I may meet with my advisor. If I can't take the classes together then I would have to take 4 hours this fall (phys) and 4 hours in the spring (micro) if I want to stick with nursing...unless I can take a mini over the Christmas break before spring, but I doubt lonestar offers that. I don't want to get a year behind just because of 2 classes. Does anyone know anything...or know what I should do? Right now I'm signed up for history classes because that's what I'd change my major to but I think my heart is still set on nursing. (I'm regretting not taking phys in summer 2 because that would solve my problem and id only be a semester behind, but I have so much going on and it just been complicated. I don't want to sound like I'm taking a break just because. I'm just trying to make sense so Yall can help with advice.) Thanks!
  5. I know it is going to get harder. My mom is a nurse and she told me that just because I struggled with this one class doesn't mean I'm gonna fail nusing school. You do have a point though.
  6. I undering what you are saying. Like I said I took summer classes last summer plus a class over the previous winter break so I wouldn't say that I'm taking the summer off for the easy way out. I didn't wanna take a class and not do well because I havnt had a break since last summer, but I understand what you are saying. I'm going to look into it more. Thank you.
  7. Hello all, I just finished my sophomore year of college. However, I made a D in my physiology class, and students are required to make a C at least. I was going to take micro this summer but I cant now because of the D. I wasn't able to retake the class this summer because I decided to work plus I took classes last summer and over the winter break, so I told myself I needed this summer off. As of right now it looks like I would get a year behind because of only 2 classes. If I decide to stick with nursing I would have to take phys this fall and micro in the spring and then apply for nursing school fall 2016. I don't want to get behind but id still like to do nursing. What should I do? Right now it seems like my two options are either get a year behind and take 4 hours a semester or change my major....Please Help. I could really use the advice. I don't know what to do. Thanks.
  8. I have taken the teas. I'm gonna try and take it again to get a higher score. I purchased the guide, but you really have to studying it for it to be effective I feel like...let us know what the advisor says!
  9. I feel like they are the same when it comes to getting in. Why do you think the woodlands would be harder? I know they take less, but it's newer too.
  10. What is your gpa and what location are you applying to?
  11. No. If you go to the application you will see that you have to check off which one you are applying to.
  12. They go by your overall. They may look at science GPA if there is a tie, but I'm not sure. What location are you applying to?
  13. They use your overall not your science GPA. I'm am curious to see how many applied for the spring at the woodlands as well, don't know if I would have a better chance there. My advisors said to shoot for 80 on the teas, and that a good overall GPA to have is not less than a 3.4. Try searching fall 2014 shsu and there is a whole convo about all that kind of stuff. It's how I found out some of my info. There is also another old blog: spring 2015 shsu. I would read through those conversations because they are also helpful and people were talking about what GPA and teas score they got in with. This spring semester is the first nursing cohort at the woodlands. They havnt had a fall cohort yet. Fall 2015 will be the first.
  14. Not 100% sure but that's what I herd. I'm not sure if they do it different at the woodlands or not.
  15. I herd you get 45 points for GPA and 35 for teas. 10 extra points if you have complete 24 or more hours at shsu and 10 extra points if you already have a bachelors degree. So it's based off a 100 point scale I guess. They take the people with the most points.
