I was just wondering if there is anybody out there having similar problems like me. I am foreign student in the last semester of nursing program. I know that it might be to late to think about changing strategies whwn you have two tests to go and a final. I am berly passing the class right now, complex-med surg. During the test I noticed that I know the answer but anxiety cause me to rush through it and then I miss it. It seems like I can`t think clearly, pull the information. Is there anyway to 100% scoring on the test, like how to take the question without a doubt about the answer. Thanks for any suggestions, Ekler

Slow down! I used to rush too and would make "silly" mistakes. I always try to read the question slowly and if I get anxious and notice myself skimming a question rather than reading it I reboot and start reading the question over more slowly. Also I will skip questions I am not sure on and come back to them at the end once I have answered all the questions I know. If your not sure of an answer try using process of elimination and critical thinking to get rid of the surely wrong answers and narrow it down. Good Luck! Your almost there!

A technique that helped me....
Shared by our instructor: Take your scantron and cover the answers. Read the question. Think about what you think the answer should be. Find it in the answers you covered with the scantron! It helps stop you from second guessing yourself.

I will share my strategy for taking the NCLEX...helped me to calm down and relax and allow my instincts to take control of the test.
I did absolutely no studying the day prior to the test.
The night before I made sure I had a full night of sleep.
The day of I ate a hearty protein rich breakfast.
Right before I smoked a few cigarettes and drank a beer or two. (This part is not recommended)

I was failing an EE class once. Went to the bar at 0800 (you can do that in "the city that never sleeps")....had a couple and then took my final. Imagine my surprise to find out I ACED the final! OMG!
The next semester I had that teacher again. He asked me how I did it and I told him. He got a good laugh over it.
When it came time for our first test that term, he called me over and told me that I better have alcohol on my breath when I come in for the test!
No! I didn't! Did well in that class. Definitely a one time fluke that I would never risk again!
Thats sounds like a brave idea, maybe I will try it,
