I took the NCLEX this morning and I feel like crap! The questions were so hard. After the test, i looked up some of the questions that were on the test and I got a lot of it wrong. Any advice??

The fact that the questions were hard is a good thing. Read this... perhaps it will ease your anxiety a bit:

Worse thing you an do is check up on answers, nothing you will do now will change the results and many people feel like you do when they come out of the test. Hang in there and Good luck

i totally agree with silverdragon102!!!
that's the worse thing you can do is go back to your book and look up those questions you remember in the exam! but no point of saying it, you already did!
yes, it was a very, very hard exam! i took mine yesterday and as i was saying to my other allnurses.com buddies it was like a slap in the face! i came out of that center in shock, like...."what in the world happened? omgosh, that was hard!
i had a lot of critical thinking questions.
i would say about 5-8 sata
intervening what is wrong
who would you see 1st
placing a nurse from another floor to another unit
placing thing in order
meds......oh mama mia!!! a lot of meds
but a lot of critical thinking for sure.......i was always stuck on 2 answers and it was sooooo hard to choose.
next thing it shut off at 75!
but like i told my other buddies at this forum..........it's over with, no turning back......no reason to be thinking over and over in your head! whats the point!
just keep yourself busy!
look at me..........i cleaned my kitchen and now its squeaky clean.....haaa! the scent of febreeze floor wash.....love it! hahaha.........just stay busy my dear!
luck on both of us!!!

Thanks everyone for your replies. You have made me feel so much better! I took a really long nap and I'm going to start doing laundry to get my mind off the test. I'll keep you all updated! :)
Your reply has cheered me up a lot. The questions that you had were very similar to mine! I had about 5 SATA,a bunch of parkinson's questions, med questions. I wish you well!! :)

hey there again! there you go! im glad you are feeling a little better! yes, it's completely normal to feel bumped out but just be glad that this whole prepping is over with.
enjoy life for now and just relax and don't think about it!
i'm glad i can make you feel better! makes me feel good to know that i can cheer someone up! :wink2:
so just keep busy and don't worry about it. check in 3 days, depending what state you live in you might get your results sooner. for me in california i have to wait about 3 to 4 days.
so, just be glad it's over and done with now!
my hubby told me "nursegreeneyes, don't worry about it, i know you passed but just in case you didn't......just in case you didn't, just do it over again".............your lucky you don't have to do nursing classes and clinicals over again. i told him.....omgosh, thank god i don't have to do lecture or clinicals all over again.
can you imagine going thru that torture of doing clinicals all over aain......ahhhh! no freakin way!!!! i think i rather do nclex over again than step in that clinical rotation!!!
but that's just my thinking qtpnai03. i don't want to sound negative but you have to think positive about it.
any who...... smile it's not the end of the world!!!!
stay posted!!

yeah, im a new grad as well. graduated in may 08.
still waiting for those results to be on the brn website.
every time i'm on line i can't help but peak at that website and check.....i should stop doing that huh? :crash:
well day 1 is almost close to being over for me! maybe i should drink a glass of wine so i can focus on something else besides nursing....hehehe! *wine got a couple of really good red wines from jan and chris winery.

good luck to you. i agree with nursegreeneyes, i would definitely not check your answers. i looked up one nclex question that i had right after i walked out and realized i picked all the wrong ones (it was a multiple answer question). bottom line, it only makes your stomach turn and absolutely no point to do that. you usually remember the questions that you had difficulty with because you didn't know the answer. also, who knows, those questions could have been higher level questions or the 15 questions that are not counted toward your exam. i passed and stopped at 75 and you can too! :wink2:
