Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

Hi!

All of the decisions, whether you got an interview or not, go out towards the end of January/beginning of February. They will send an email that the status of your application has been updated and your acceptance or rejection letter is on your application portal.

I’m not sure why I didn’t think to apply in the first place! I guess it sounded like extra unnecessary schooling since I already have a bachelors, but now that I look, it doesn’t really seem that way? It might be really nice to be able to work and to actually see my loved ones while in school LOL

You do not need a lockdown browser for the exam, just Zoom. They post a link to the exams in the zoom chat which opens up a new tab or browser. Good luck!

I just saw it’s not due till January 6, which is before we’d receive ABSN decisions…wondering if that would increase my chances of getting in at all and be worth it to apply. Does it require an interview too? Might be nice to be able to work and go to school even if it means finishing later. 

I applied to both programs at the same time. It doesn't hurt to try. I believe they select people for interviews as well, they're both competitive programs.

That’s how I feel too. I believe the application process is exactly the same as the ABSN.

Ah okay. Almost totally dropped the ball on this. Time to bother my letter writers one more time!

Hey all. Just completed my interview/test portion. I was in one of the 12 pm slots. Glad this is finally over with, now we can all just await for final decisions which should come by January.

Same here. Just finished today. I was so impressed with the other candidates! Best of luck to all ?  I hope everyone is able to relax and enjoy the holidays now.
