Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!
Hi everyone! To those of you that have finished your interview and assessments, congrats! I'm sure it feels like a weight off of your shoulders, now it's just a waiting game..
I have one quick question, zoom doesn't work on my laptop so I was planning on using my ipad for the interview but then I was hoping to use my laptop for the writing assessment so I can type faster... during the test portion are you on zoom as well or not? Trying to figure out if I need to find another option and maybe borrow a different laptop..

Yes, you will be on Zoom with your video on during the math and writing assessment, and then you'll click the assessment links and have those in a separate window.

They did mention they're interviewing about 160 students and picking about 80. But if I recall, there are only 4 groups within this round of emails right? Just not seeing the numbers add up unless they're planning on sending a second round of interview emails?
There were 3 slots today and 3 slots tomorrow and it seems like each interview has 4 candidates, so they must have pairs of faculty hosting a lot of different interviews at once.

Honestly, it wasn't as hard as I thought! Just simple addition, subtraction, percentage and proportion questions. I personally practiced using TEAS exam (tried not to use calculator to practice) and I think it helped me a lot. Good luck! You got this!
Hi guys! I just found this forum and wish I found it sooner! I actually just completed my first part of my interview and I'm glad its over with! I was just wondering for the math and writing portion do they use a lock down browser to record your screen? my computer always gives a difficult time with lock down browsers and I always have to change my settings (which I always forget to do).

Is anyone last minute thinking about applying to their regular 2 year BSN program too? I just saw it’s not due till January 6, which is before we’d receive ABSN decisions…wondering if that would increase my chances of getting in at all and be worth it to apply. Does it require an interview too? Might be nice to be able to work and go to school even if it means finishing later.

Yes, I am doing that. The 2 year is probably my preference anyway considering being able to work at least a little if possible. It also seems like my only option at this point since I didn't hear back from the ABSN program. I'll definitely take as many chances at getting into Stony Brook as possible!?

I feel the same way. Even though I felt it was okay, I'm still cringing at certain parts of what I said. But I'm sure many of us can relate to this. Just one more exam left and this stress of today will be done with! Good luck!
