Published

Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

Hi everyone, just wanted to wish you all the best of luck on interviews tomorrow and Tuesday! I booked the 11am tomorrow...trying my best not to panic!

Good luck, you got this!

Anyone else suffering from a post-interview case of "why did I say that/why didn't I say that?" This is going to be a rough couple months of a waiting game.

I'm sorry you're suffering but also I'm glad I'm not the only one LOL. I think overall it went decent considering my nerves, but then I'm always like "I had to go and say that one thing that will make me replay it in my head for the next 2 months" and wonder how much they look over every single thing we said. Like were they taking notes? Do they re-watch the recording? Or do they just get a general gist of a person and call it a day?

What time was your interview? I had mine at 8am. I noticed they did take notes but I doubt they recorded the interviews.

My words of encouragement would be to keep in mind that there were many different group interviews, and though you might be questioning your answers, they could have been far better than the answers of other groups, you just weren't able to hear them to compare. I'm also worried if I did the best I could, but reviewing my personal statement helps me feel a bit better about touching points I might have forgotten during the interview.

I was in a 12pm one. You're right, and I doubt they have time to watch videos of so many interviews anyway. I guess they will take a look at what they wrote for interviews alongside our grades, essays, letters, and math/writing assessment when it's all done, and then make us wait a torturous 6-8 weeks for decisions ?

What type of questions did they ask? And how was the math test?

Me right now too! I still think overall, it was pretty good! So glad that we got it over with though! They did mention they're interviewing about 160 students and picking about 80. But if I recall, there are only 4 groups within this round of emails right? Just not seeing the numbers add up unless they're planning on sending a second round of interview emails?

I remember hearing her say they were holding interviews next week as well. So perhaps they sent out a second round of interviews. My 8 am interview only had 4 people though, what about the other time slots?

Questions weren't bad. Just an introduction question and some general nursing opinion-scenarios. Nothing challenging. Just answering with honesty and with your best judgment. Our math test is in 30 mins! Trying to ease the nerves haha.

I was in the 8am group too! I recall mine had 5 people.

I am very stressed as well. I felt like I did okay during the interview but I also wish I said different points/ reworded things now that its over. My nerves took over at some points during the interview.
