Stony Brook FNP Interview

Hello to all, I just received an email for the FNP interview @ Stony Brook School of Nursing. I am wondering if anyone had the interview and what kind of questions they ask during the interview? I heard it's a group interview, how does it work? Thanks in advance, any information would help, appreciated!!

Hi Allie! Yes you receive a decision letter either way. Good luck to you!

Any NY applicants here? Anyone know if NY applicants receive strictly in site interviews or is a telephone interview an option as well? Thanks all

I'm a ny applicant, from Long Island, 20 min from SBU. I interviewed with a girl from upstate ny who had traveled a good distance for her onsite interview.

I applied to SB as a back up (not my first choice) and I am from upstate NY. If I were to be interviewed, it would be a good 3-4 hour drive there and that's only if traffic behaves (not fun).

Oh okay, thought I was the only NY'er. Thanks for the update guys! Im close enough, about 30 min. How was the interview Allie225?

It would be nice if they could do Skype type interviews for those who live several hours away, but since it's only a few hours, I don't see them doing this (I think it's only in person as far as I know, but could be wrong).

Yes it is only face-to-face interviews...I work at Stony Brook and have several co-workers doing their masters there

Okay, thanks. For some reason I thought I saw threads from last year mentioning telephone interviews for those living out of the area.

Pretty quite..anyone received any type of response???

Still waiting anxiously!!

I just interviewed yesterday for FNP summer 2016 start date and they said 45 seats have been filled and my group would hear back by February 2016 so hopefully you guys will hear ASAP! I did not know they were doing rolling admission so it makes it a little discouraging that so many seats have been filled already :-/ best of luck to you!!

Thanks for the update! They told me February also. Supposedly the admissions committee isn't meeting in Dec/Jan. Hopefully I have one of those 45 seats [emoji120]🏽[emoji120]🏽 Good luck to you!
